Bobby Bass
OK just between you and me, do you have a secret fishing spot that you don't share with anyone? I have one that I have taken only a few people to and once when one of my friends express to much interest after fishing it I drove through all the cross roads with my headlights out on the way home so he could not see the signs on the roads. So do you have good spot or two?

fishnhooks
I too, have lakes... X1, X2, X3. I get dump from people at work because I won't tell the lakes names. Just for fun I made a lake map of a dead lake and put it on my desk where people could find it. I put a little red X on it and sure enough some people found it and could not believe that I was fishing on the lake. (sorry Mr. Special ). Captain B.R.K
Funny you should bring this up because I always get grief for knowing about a spot or two that produces consistent big bass each time out. My one buddy knows I'm out on this site and swears everytime I talk I'm always talking about the spots. I tell him, if I told someone on the site then they wouldn't be our "secret" spots Not all spots should be reveiled, but I do believe in giving people general tips and if a lake is big enough to handle the pressue, I'll point out some spots to people. Example is last year I fished in a summer league around the St.Cloud area. Each night or the day after the event, I'd post my results and where I was at. I don't think that hurt any........ setterguy
I have a few little lakes that will produce nice fish, most of mine are through the ice...but I think I may have developed a new one for fall muskies...its half the fun of fishing. eyepatrol
Personally, I don't have a "Lake X". There are small lakes that I fish that have produced some nice fish in the past, and I've shared the name of those lakes on this forum. I usually don't, however, give out the exact location of where I'm catching the fish....not unless I know I can trust a person with the information I give them. That's one thing most people will have to figure out on their own. Even though I give the name of the lake, the location on the lake is a whole other thing. And besides, the lakes I do fish and report on are either already busy, or are already vacant with fisherman. Reporting on here or telling friends really hasn't made a difference in the amount of boat traffic either way. And, if it has increased boat traffic, people certainly are not hitting the same spots I am 'cause I haven't seem them there. That's just what I choose to do though. I completely understand and respect others for having one or more "Lake X".
Maximum12
Yup. I've found a couple of small lakes that produce nicely & don't have any pressure. I made the mistake (I'm sure lots of us have!) of giving up one of my honey holes to a friend a couple years ago, & he told a friend... who happened to be a construction worker & hit this little pond for dinner every day all winter. Pretty soon his friends were out there too. I now have a legal contract drawn up for my buddies who are privy to my secret spots.
Random guy
I had one secret spot for a couple of years that I always stuck musky when I visited. It was finally discovered when a local fisherman stopped at the bridge to to check water conditions and relized I was under it fishing musky. That little spot has never been the same since. riverrat56
I've got some spots tucked away, most are small spots that are obvious but often overlooked. I've had people try to get them out of me and if I take them there its all on backroads so they couldn't find there own way there.

schr0563
When it comes to general posting on this site there is no way I'll post specific details about a hot bite. However, there are individuals on this site who I trust and will willingly trade the exact results of recent outings with. The same goes for friends. I feel like giving quality info is the best way to get the word on additional quality info. I like to think of it as fishing networking. For instance, I know a spot right now where I can pull in all the nice bluegills a guy could want. But say I am really interested in landing a trophy crappie. I would gladly give up the bluegill spot to get the word on a potential crappie bite.
markkstanley
I'm trying to find that spot Schro but no luck yet. I do have one spot that has a history of big crappies but several other guys know about it too and at most two boats can fish it. It is also not consistent. Only way I can get a 16" crappie on Tonka is to super glue two 8" together.
JP Z
I don't really have any ultra secret spots. It's more my techniques that work when others don't. But I guess I do have my own "Tomato Bob's"
