I Da Man
You know, I don't recall ever seeing all of them at any one place... Catfish Connection now has DVD's. Take a couple days though...but what else are you going to be doing??
hanson
Big Cat Safari is a favorite of mine. But how could you rule out Predator on the Prowl too.I've got to place an order to CC for Day on the River and there was another one that was just released to DVD as well. DARK30
Gee thanks dtro. You inspired me to watch a couple vids this morning...now I REALLY got fever! Watched Big Cat Safari first...It was fun to see uncle Al get so worked up on those James River Blues. He's got some serious "little kid" enthusiasm when he gets bit...I love it. Next, I put in "Flathead Catfish, A Day On The River" with Doug and Steve. They fish the Minnesota.... Looks like they put in at New Ulm and headed upstream. They spend the day looking for likely spots and then hit the good ones that evening. Funny, I thought I heard one of them say something about a 9" bullhead catching one of the nice Mudeyes. DTro
ok, you guys are making this worse......not better. Am I going to have to make a road trip to Owatonna? Do they even have these vids there?I've heard a little bit about a football game that is going to be on the tube today, but I'd rather watch a big ole kitty being caught. This morning, I watched the guys from NAFC haulin in some monster reds down in Louisiana.......add that to my "to do" list. Man those things were hogs.
hanson
dtro- If I recall correctly, I've picked mine up from the Gander Mountains in the cities. I would check out Lakeville Gander or Minnetonka Gander before driving to Owatonna. Heck, I'd offer to borrow you mine but I think I'll be watching them today & tonight. fiskyknut
WOW, how refreshing to see some Red river footage on t.v from south of the border for a change. Seems like everyone says you gots to go to Lockport, well all that footage was from my stomping grounds near Drayton and north. The lowhead itself, and the 2 other spots they were anchored I recognize and have fished for many years. Thats what we catch up here guys, there is NO shortage of BIG Catfish contrary to what some say they may find elsewhere upstream and on the tribs. Did'nt look like the Lindner boys had any fish anywhere near 24 inches either, all BIG ones as is the norm up here, they may not have shown their wee ones though. The furthest spot they were anchored on looked to me to be one that is about 2 miles or so downstream of the dam, may have been further north though. Best place in the USA to get your 20+ pound Channel Catfish up north of gfks for sure. About 60+ more river miles filled with WHOPPERS with hardly ever a soul fishing between there at Drayton and the border too. No shortage of BIG fish on our streches in the northern valley for sure guys, they are easy to find and catch, and did you notice the crowds, 2 vehicles there by the ramp, one musta been the linders and the other guys were just down from the ramp on shore. You can go for miles and miles by boat without seeing another boat/angler. Always a few anglers near that Drayton lowhead but no mass crowds as there is up north of the border, big part of the reason I rarely ever head north. No need, plenty of uncrowded river, and lot's of BIG Catfish in the good ole USA. Try it you'll like it. Regards...fiskyknut
hanson
Quote: Try it you'll like it. I do! I do! Hopefully this summer, I'll be able to spend more time on the Red in the Grand Forks area and up to Drayton. I already told my dad I'm rigging his little Lund with rod holders for cattin' on the Red. DTro
I liked the part were Al was explaining the hooks they were using and the camera was focused on him, while in the back of the boat the other guy tosses out, lets his bait settle, and....wham nails another one. Al's blabbing about these hooks the other guy (I forget his name) is pumping away on the fish. Finally Al realizes what's going on and is like, oh forget about the hooks Then he get's the fish in and Al says, "look at that handsome puss" Just love it Any idea what time of the year that was fisky? Dennis Steele
I should have stayed home and watched all the shows! Shivered in a shak for one fish I wouldn't even consider large enough for bait!

fiskyknut
dtro, I'm assuming the footage was shot last summer? We had extended high water again last year early/mid summer up here and that ramp north at Drayton below the dam was not really useable to launch a boat like they had till about the 7th of August or so. Could have been right around then, or a few days after that date maybe. Water dropped a ways thru August lower than what was shown, and then came back up again to aroun about that level shown flowing over the lowhead right near the end of that month too, so it could've been the end of August or very early September timeframe too. Also came up that high again later in September but the trees and grass were too green yet on the show for it to be that late eh. Maybe one of the Lindner's will pop in and let us know, they do keep an eye on this websites forums I'm sure? Funny they did'nt mention at all that it was on the Red river at Drayton in the US they were fishing, the area around Grand forks and the way NWMN sure could use that kind of exposure. If those 2 touristas can catch 'em like that up here anyone can!!! Regards....fiskyknut
