Clam License/ Identifcation Holder

The factory states to attach on the door. Use small screws and nuts with washer to secure it to the front. Thats how I attached mine to the clam pro. Placed dnr # on heavy tag board and placed shelter license along side that.

Both are listed on the top of door in plane view.

For those of you who have attached to the canvas, your canvas has not ripped at all or started to frey??? Have not attached mine yet, just don't want the canvas to rip or tear. Thanks to you that have replied and helped out.

No fraying at all the hole is so small you can barely see it even without the rivets in it.

Yo, Harvey Lee..... I thought about the marker thing too. HOWEVER, I just renewed my drivers license and the number changed. Its probably something you already know, but I assume you have the old number if you did it 3 years ago. Maybe its good that it faded, so now you can put it elsewhere when your number changes. I dont know why our state does such weird things....

Anyway, I have a voyager as well, and got the little black clips with the Reg. holder. I ALSO put it under the window on the front door. I wish I would have put it on back so I didnt have to see it get all crinkled up when I fold up my tent... I know it would get crinkled in the back, but I wouldnt see it... laugh.gif Out of site, out of mind.

I called the DNR the other day and found out that your MN DNR number is never suppose to change. So putting that in the holder sounded like the best idea...

I used my propane torch to heat up a nail and pushed the nail through the canvas to creat my hole for the grommet. I think that should melt the edges enough to ensure it doesn't fray. As others have said though, they don't seem to have a problem with it even without doing it this way. But that's how I did it and it works just fine.

Clam has a patented weave that is almost impossible to tear and fray. You can actually take a piece of fabric and slice a hole in it and you cannot tear it with your hands or even get it to budge. They don't call it ice armor for nothing!

I heated the end of a nail also. It melts the edges of the hole to help prevent any fraying or tearing. Mine sags a bit in the center, which is no big deal, but it could use a rivet in the center also.

I put my license holder on the back of my fish trap with the provided mounting hardware, I have had no problems.

The reason I didn't put is on the door was (what if I have the door rolled up) then my licence would be hidden.

For those individuals with more than one portable here's my solution: Lay out your DNR# or Driver's License# along with your Portable Shelter tag on a piece of cardboard cut to fit within a Zip Lok type of bag. Buy one of those spring-loaded plastic clamps sold in hardware or big box home improvement stores. Use that to attach the the bag-protected license anywhere that works best on your portable. When you're ready to leave, just unclamp and place within the sled/tub for your next outing.

I was at gander mountain and when buying my shack license they had the blaze orange Wisconsin tag holders that hunters have to have on there backs, I baught one of those and stuff my shack license in there. It comes with a huge safety pin which I put through the vent mesh, that way no wholes. I made a quick info sheet and laminated which I put in the window with the window up. I have the 5600 and it doesn't have a spot to put identifications.

    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
