Polishing Aluminum

I'm at the point in my boat project where I am going to flip it over and polish the bottom. Any recommendations as far as a quality aluminum cleaner and polishing compound? I've got a buffer. I'll be cleaning the hull from splash rail to splash rail. Thanks

I used to use a polish on my snowmobile tunnel that people hated because it turned almost to a mirror. I don't remember the brand but it was in a tin can and was actully a cloth like material that you pulled apart and used. I'll try to find it in the garage. I remeber that I bought it in an auto parts store though.

Mothers is great as mentioned, and Flitz metal polish is also very good.

After using something like Mother's, do you follow with a paste wax?

Indy, are you refering to neverdull, thats what I use, works great. I use it to freshen up some old motorcyle parts.

Came out looking like chrome when done. Well, at least very shiny.

NevRdull will also polishes up plastic very nicely to get the fine scratches out of eyeglasses and other plastic things.
