jiggin pig
I had scene a ice fishing print with a northen pike with a sucker in its mouth, and you could see the tip up flag up. the view was from both above ice and below ice. I was wondering who was the artist of it. I saw it in a outdoors weekly magizine and now i can't find it. if you let please help. thanks
The Grebe
I believe it was something from Les Kubera (Sp) my friend has a set of his prints, paintings of a view from inside a spear house, etc. it's pretty cool...a big old pike, the decoy, pretty neat! Check him out, you might find what you are looking for, or maybe something you like even more, you never know?
Paul Waldowski
Yeah,He has a lot of cool outdoor stuff. Do a search for Les C. Kouba
goodyy7
That one is a cool one....one of my favorite fishing prints is still the one with the little boy ice fishing on his bucket....very cool and reminds me of me at that age....goody
gvg_uwec
If you make it out to the ICE Show, I believe that there is a booth that sells his prints if Les is the artist im thinking of(If he's not i definately also recomend the prints of the the guy at the ice show), his prints are amazing and if i could afford one i would definately get one for myself. There were some good deals on the prints at that booth at the show.
hoggs222
It's probably one of his Ice Series prints. Les Kouba probably won't be at the show. He's dead.

Gadgetman
This sight used to have a sponser called "The Art Barbarians"- not sure if they are still here or not but they have or can get all of those pictures. I think that they are located in Rogers at 94 and
Matt Johnson
Yep, check out Art Barbarians to get an idea of what some of the prints look like... www.artbarbarians.com I have a few prints from them and their frame-work is tough to beat in my opinion! Great people too! Les Kouba just happens to be one of my favorite artists too... Les Kouba Prints A lot of great prints and originals to look at. Anybody know who the artist is? I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think it's Kouba.... he's got the spearfishing pictures which are very cool.. but I don't think he's got the one with the tipup flag and the view from both directions... I haven't seen a lot of ice fishing pictures in general... my wife bought me one by Eric Bjorlin called secret lake: Which is pretty nice... there's another one similar to that one that's closer to dark... FullTilt
I agree with marine_man, I don't think the print Jigin Pig is refering to is a Kouba. I've been following this post hoping someone would know who it is, it sounds like a very cool print.
hanson
I agree Matt!I swung by Art Barbarians a couple weeks ago to drop off a Les Kouba print for framing- "Wildfowlin' at the Hilton". I ended up talking with Adam there for an hour and a half or so about hunting, fishing, and photography. Nice people!I'm not quite sure what print is being referred to with the pike & the sucker minnow. Kouba's "Darkhouse Action" has an underwater shot of a pike eyeing up a spearing decoy. "Bye, Bye Blackbird" has an above water view of a toothy critter about to eat a blackbird. I know, wrong season. If you check out the Art Barbarians HSOforum, do a search for "Ice Fishing" and you'll pull up a good dozen prints from various artists with ice fishing as the subject. I know there are a couple there that I'd like to own.And for those who don't know, Art Barbarians is sponsoring this years Deer Hunting Photo Contest. Check out the Photo Sharing forum, the contest is stickied at the top. Adam assures me there are going to be some awesome prizes.
gvg_uwec
I believe the one most people are talking about is Les Kouba's "fishouse trilogy" I think its This one not good quality but gives the idea I'm still lookin for that tip up print for ya..im curious now too

MN Mike
I picked up one like you are describing a couple years ago, it was a miller high life mirror. Do a search on hsolist for ' tip up miller ' I think you might find it. When you see the mirror, you can see the person running after a flagging tipup in the top corner.I'm sure there is an artist, I'll have to look at mine and see who it is.Mike

Sergeant Slabber
Ron Nelson is a good friend of mine. He has been drawing and painting wildlife for as long as I can remember. He has some pretty cool prints available at Nelsonwildlife.com for a fair price. I have the "Quick Strike Pike" hanging in my basement as well as some of his other work. He does the Print of the Year for Outdoor News and I believe those are also available on his HSOforum. Check it out and/or give him a call.
