0 LocalGuide
Thats what we do but we normally run ours every 3 months just to be on the safe side. Plus its kinda different to hear a ice auger run when its 90ºF out. lol ------------------AKA PikeEye
0 Surface Tension
Taken from Strikemasters owners manual. Drain the gas tank. Run the engine till it quits. If you used gasohol mix 1/2 pint of unoxygas with proper oil/gas ratio and run then engine then drain gas and run the engine till it quits. Pull the plug and fog the cylinder. Replace the plug and pull the recoil till you feel resistance.
0 Benny
I have to agree with ST on this one.I have followed that procedure for over 8 years with my Strikemaster Mag 111.I didn't drain the gas out of my two cycle snowblower last year, so this winter I had to tear the carb and feul lines apart and clean the gummed up oil out of them.If your gas evaporates over the summer, the oil is still left and will plug up everything.Benny[This message has been edited by Benny (edited 02-24-2004).]
0 magicstix
if you drain gas and fog , you'll not have any troubles. the stabil or additve method is not reliable any more with todays gas.

0 iffwalleyes
This is the absolute best way I have found. I put stabili in my gas and run it for a while till the exaust really starts to smell you can smell the stabili. Then dump the take out and run it till it dies. Start it again if it will and keep doing this till you can't get it to start any more use the choke and primer to get as much out as you can. I like doing this because even running the unit out of gas there is always a little left somewhere in the system. As far as what to do with the old fuel I put it in my pick up because that little bit if 2 cycle fuel mixed with a 26 gallons will be very minimal and will give you no problems. I used to just stabili the gas and run it till it came through but every fall I had to put new diaprhams in and clean the carb. I haven't had to do that now for the last 3 years since I started doing it the way I mentioned about. Another suggestion that I changed to this year. Get a bottle of jiffy's or strikemaster's own brand of two cycle mix oil I like this for two reason 1st because it is a smokeless oil and second because it has stabili built right in so all winter my fuel has stabili in it. Just some suggestions.------------------Grip it and Rip itIFFWalleyesI Fish For Walleyes[email protected]
0 IFallsRon
I run Stabil at the end of the season, dump out the tank and run the tank dry. I do the same with the snowblowers. During the summer when I don't have enough to do, I'll mix a small batch of gas and Stabil and run the auger and snowblowers until they're warm. Same in the fall when it's time to get everything ready for winter. I see it's about time to put the muffs on the outboard and let it run, too. 0 Steve Foss
I dump my leftover gas in the pickup gas tank. Never hurts to have a little top-engine lube in with the gas, and dumping in about a gallon of gas at a 32:1 mixture isn't going to gum up my '85 Chevy. ------------------"Worry less, fish more."Steve Foss[email protected]
0 trollingforeyes
I put Seafoam in my gas. As it is a cleaner, fuel drier and stabilizer all in one.I do this about a month before season closes so by the time the ice goes ka put the auger is ready for storage. I use Amsoil for the oil mix and store the auger, covered, in the basement. I do not fog using this combination. No 2 cycle problems in 25 years.
