Willy
Buzzy, that picture of a Viking tackling an Eagle must have been hard to find. I only saw about 3 or 4 of those in the whole game! I'm pumped for this year though. That new "D" we have sounds good. As far as the Twinnigmatics, they are cooked and pathetic on the offesive side of the ball. Good Luck to Windy and Pale hose in the playoffs .............. Then again.............. maybe not!!!!!!
lots of luck
Quote: Hey Lots of Luck, Why don't you take another sip of Stoly and return to your gulag in Minsk. As Paul McCartney said, "I'm back in the USSR, you don't know how lucky you are, boy." Wow, I'm glad that the rest of my FM brethren are not burning any crosses on my lawn. I see that most of you know the score exactly. I get to crow for the rest of the regular season, just like you did for the past 3 years and then it is time to put up or shut up. If my beloved Pale Hose tank in the first round, I will provide the marshmallows and weinies for the roasting of Pale Hose. If they continue on then it is game on. If they take it all, you guys can say that it is only one year, compared to the Twinks. I can gloat some more and then we can all move to the football forum where I will defend my lovable losers...DA BEARS! And you can bash each other about the Packers and Vi-Queens! It's all in good fun, except for Lots of Luck who is keeping warm by burning his copy of the Constitution in the fire. In the immortal words of Sgt. Hulka in Stripe, "Lighten up, Francis". YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES! [PoorWordUsage]? How would I even respond to garbage like this. I think I will pass.
lots of luck
Windy,Guess we are going to have to be pals from now on, I too am a loyal and hopeless Bears fan. We can unite and take great pride when our Kyle Orton led Bears clinch the NFC North title. It won't be pretty. See you in the football forum. Windy City Walleye Hunter
Lots of Luck,Don't take what I say to heart, like Wally said to the Beav, "Don't let Eddie bother you Beav, he's just givin' ya' the business". Your post about removing me struck a chord in this ole American and I had to illustrate absurdity by being absurd. Just pokin' some fun, though Stoly can be an awful tasty drink on a hot summer day!Sing with me lots of luck....BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS!!!YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES! genegodawa
No Windy, NO....not another all-capitalized moniker to end your posts with please. But I do prefer Bear Down to Harrelson-even though I'm a GB fan. And to prepare for hockey season...."here come the Hawks, the mighty Black Hawks"? We got us a 'Bullin Wall' now. genegodawa
And today we'll see if "Down go the Sox" again. (I think a few days ago they might have found that playground toy to go down.) I know Windy is comfortable with their lead, but if they keep playing on that toy, it could get interesting, and maybe a little scary for him, especially if the Indians turn it on while the Sox are on the playground. Down to Earth
Quote:WHERE's THE SLIDE???YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES! I think the slide is in progress. Fortunately for the Sox they played so far above their heads in the first half that they pretty much have an uncermountable lead in the central over the Indians and Twins. Though weirder things have happened. This MAY start to get interesting.
buzzsaw
DTE, you said it well! The Sox fans should be getting nervous because if they play the way they've played lately come playoff time... I will be cueing the Van Halen song..... Bum ba dee daa, bum ba dee daa... Happy Trails to you, until we meet again.... Happy Trails to you.... da da, da da, da da. Oh I like the sound of that tune!P.S. Who sang the song "Oye Como Va" ?? was it LeCroy??? hmmm NOPE! Was it Santana?? Yeah baby!! I think I heard the guy running the sound system playing that when Johan was puttin' the smack down on the boys in black.I do think that the Twins dug themselves too deep a hole, but it sure would have been interesting had we won our normal share of those one run losses we have. boo hoo hoo. Dotch
Q: What do Buehrle and chickens in the morning have in common? A: They both go, "Balk, balk, balk...." (little farmer humor there) I agree, the Sox played out of their gourds 1st half and they are to be commended for their record. Doubtful the Twins will contend for a 4th division title but they've managed to get back in the wild card picture. Keep the bats moving, play solid defense, keep pitching up to their capabilities and they may make the playoffs yet.
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Man oh man, I should be nervous. But, I would rather be nervous with an 11 game lead, in the middle of our worst streak (5) and still watch our magic number go down (thank you Rangers). Just getting the kinks out now, prior to the playoffs. Hopefully, this mini slide will serve two purposes. One, not allow my beloved Pale Hose to limp into the playoffs and get blind sided. And two, maybe this will be the final prodding for Kenny Williams to pull the trigger on a deal for one of the trade baits. Give up a few prospects and maybe some cash to pick up a superstar (insert a name here) Congrats to the Twinks on the sweep, maybe this will make your otherwise miserable season. Now they can end the year out of the playoffs but still say, "At least we swept the Sox in August", while we go forward in the playoffs. Sounds like a role reversal from the past three years. The Sox were on the outside, looking in and the Twinks were in the playoffs. Nice to be on the other side this year.YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES! CNY Tim
Mark Mulder pitched another 5 hit shutout against the limpbacks (DBack's) and with Suppan's performance the other night, my Card's assumed the best record in baseball and are grabbing for the dustpan tonight. On the injury front Walker and Molina maybe ready this weekend or the start of the road trip, great news!!! Secondly the jury is out on Scott Rolen, this shoulder injury could be it for Rolen, no diagnosis and no time table, mysterious injury that involves the shoulder that no one's really talking about. I think it's either mental now or possibly he is one of the players on that list., I don't want it to be true. But after what we have seen this year with the testing and such you can't discount it. It would break my heart if the latter was the case.
rundrave
I would like to congrat CNY Tim for the Cards now having the best record in baseball. We all know that you are a little more modest when you have the best team in baseball, compared to others lol... Windy I am glad to see you came out and took your licks, you know we have all taken ours. Normally you would just not show your face for a couple days, but glad you could chime in with some smack. I couldnt tell if that was frustration last night on the sox batters faces as they shook their head, or were the sox just impressed with seeing the best changeup in baseball. There was an awful lot of four letter words said, somebody should have planted a mic on Mauer. Just a sweep, was nice to see, but as of today we are sill out of it, time will only tell. We still have a chance so I am not going to rule anything out.
Willy
Yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaw! Man it's fun to watch the Twins anemic lineup rope Buerle around the park like that. Guess we found out who the better pitcher was last night. Johan's back to his old self and can't be stopped. Mark is in a good slump and has given up 10 Earned in his last two. Couple that with a lineup almost as bad as the twins and the Sox have started to slump. What's happening to the Sox Windy?...........
buzzsaw
I think I hear buehrhe (in the above photo) saying... balk, balk balk balk! Sounds like chicken little to me! The Sox are reeling and now face NY, good luck Windy! While the Twins schedule gets easier down the stretch.... I sure hope we can atleast make the fans in Chicago sweat a bit. I'm sure Windy won't because he's got the utmost confidence that his team is the best ever and will win it all... we'll seeeeeeee
Down to Earth
Imagine if the Twins sweep the Sox from here on out? That is a 10 game swing with only 2 games to make up with the remaining games. Mostly likely wishful thinking, but like I've said weirder things have happened. One game, one series at a time.....
fishyguy
Windy,You definately get a "atta boy" for showing up which many folks around here won't when things go sour (think Tigers fan) but then again you really don't have much to worry about with the commanding lead. But I do have to ask if you want to go back and discuss some old posts about who has the better ERA and overall staff, or maybe the Johan vs. Buerhle discussion? Enjoy the role reversal this year, your boys have earned it.Yes, the season has been miserable, but after 3 straight titles, sweeping a series against a team you have abused for 3 years certainly doesn't make up for it. It still would be disappointing.
