I use mostly Gel-Gloss, once or twice I used some 3M marine cleaner/wax, it was much more expensive than the Gel-Gloss. My boat is fiberglass, 10 years old and still looks great.

a friend of mine that is the owner of Profile Boats;( he builds the baha style and cats.) told me to use a wax that has carnuba in it for my ranger . i have been using kit paste wax for years . i read in Bass and Walleye Boats mag. that some waxes are really a clear coat. which looks great and shines for a long time, but if you need to get the boat repaired, they have a devil of a time removing this stuff to refinish the glass.hopefully we have some guys on here that repair boats that will provide great info!

In between waxes I use a spray detailer that wipes on and off every time I use my boat.It works great for removing dust/waterspots etc. and it's quick if you do it often enough not to let the grime biuld up.Extra work but I fish better with a clean rig grin.gif

The fore mentioned 3m cleaner/wax works very good for keeping build-up to a minimum. It also keeps the oxidized gel coat off so you don't get that dull chalky look to the gel coat. If it does get a little hazy looking, 3m also sells a very good polish that will bring back the gloss and make it look new again.
