My wife and I were out doing some garage saling in the rain this morning and I picked up a nice little 4 1/2 inch FinBore hand auger to use for pannies, on that late ice when it is easy to cut through.

I've been meaning to get one, but I did'nt want to pay the retail price for a new one....I got this bad boy for $2.50 and it is ready to rock with the factory blade cover and new blades! Ice fishing is'nt ever very far out of mind!

In PA. it hit the mid 80S* today. Thats when I start thinking of ice fishing, that why I'm on here now. 6 months and maybe 1 week I should have ice.

Here's how big of an itch I have. Within the last week I bought an Fl-18,a new portable fish house and am looking at yet buying a new power auger. Just can't decide if it should be a Jiffy or a Strike master.

It does mean anything when you bring out the ice fishing tackle to try to catch the bigger goldfish in your fish tank by using a euro and a size 10 hook.

I almost got one to bite. They just hang on to the worm.

Would it be possilbe to put the tank in the freezer for awhile before? Or maybe get a sheet of glass over the top so it looks like your fishing through the ice?

10 gallon tank, I would need to get a deep freezer.

SAY !!!!!! Buy a deep freezer, fill it with water, and plug it in. Fill it with fish first. I'm going to go buy one.

I would take ice fishing any day over summer fishing- no bugs, no wind, no sunburn, sit back and watch tv in the shack eating bacon and eggs, playing cards, and oh ya even catch a bunch of fish once in a while- how can you beat that?

FB...I seen a snake once? He rode by on a snomobile, whacked me in the back as I sat in my portable and rode off!

As far as the sun burns go, I get plenty sun and wind burnt in the winter...by spring it looks like I have been on vacation in Florida, with the tan face and hands.

I don't wear a hat, or gloves anymore then I have to...I've got a good pump, plenty of forehead for solar heating and I move around alot, so I stay pretty warm.

Huh? What are you guys talking about? Getting the itch yet for ice-fishing? You mean it's not ice-fishing season anymore? Holy dump!!! What month is this? I was wondering why I had this nasty heat rash going on, maybe I need to take the snowpants and longjohns off. That would explain why my waxworms turned into moths. Maybe if I take a second mortgage out on my house that would be enough for rent on the local ice rink until the lakes freeze up again... I heard on the weather channel that out West was getting some snow in the higher elevations, anyone up to a road trip!!?

Lots of guys got the itch pretty bad. I myself can wait as I love getting the boat out and going WFO with the wind blowing through my hair. Ice fishing is pretty fun though. I just need to get a new portable house (or at least a new canvas) due to all the mouse holes in it. Used to store it at my dad's place, but that's where all the mouse holes came from so this year I've found a place for it in my garage.

you guys are insane. I know your just having fun but come on. I've never seen any hot mammas in bikinis walking around on the ice. Enjoy the season. Soft water, golf, bonfires, camping, a little stickball. you can keep your ice.

Geez, I just got started into BASS fishing this year and now you guys want to talk about fishing hardwater?!? I was just into Sportsman's Warehouse looking at all the new bows in their archery department. AAARGGGGG I've got the itch for that, a scratch for this........WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO

No time and we'll be wondering where the summer went and be kicking back talking about those stories on the ice.

Looking forward to doing that in another 5 months! Here's to enjoying the summer before those beautiful 10 degree days are knocking at our doors

If we get as much snow next winter, as we have had rain to this point this summer, ain't nobody going to be ice fishing!

Let's see, the rain fall we have had thus far, if turned into snow, by my equations, e=mc2/= a /[ab] x pi r2= 17 feet of snow by December 15th!
