backlash 1
Me too. Took my boat in this morning for a tune up. Was gonna try a little ice fishing this afternoon, but the landing on Sylvan where I go out had about 10 feet of open water, and i'm not that brave, so thats it for me. Come on open water! river-rat4
FB- Not saying this is the correct way, but I run'r out of gas, fog'r and hang'r up vertical on the end of heavy shelving. She gets to watch all of the open water activities. I think that it helps her get primed for the ice season. The Grebe
The old 25 Johnson sat covered and waiting all winter long and roared to life in the 1st. second I turned it over! Our season starts Monday, but I bet I'll have that boat on the water somewhere, sometime this week after work!
smartguy
I'm done, too. Today was my last day. I had to paddle the canoe 15-20 feet to the ice. Drilled alo of wholes, not much luck. On the bright side, I was able to fish in shorts and tennis shoes! The ice is going downhill pretty quick. There is still a good 14-16 inches in the Brainerd area, but the ice is not the best quality. dockehr
Hey! What's with you guys? Fished two hours this morning on Cass lake for hungry perch! Caught 71 with enough eaters for fish dinner tonight and tomorrow night for my wife and me. 9:00 am 'til 11:00 am, 37 degrees to 48 degrees, and no one else on the bay. Just me, a bucket, my vex, and those hungry perch. Yum! Yum! Sorry to rub it in but there's plenty of safe ice up this way. Good luck to every one as open water season approaches.dockehrDr. Roland E. Ryan_V
All finished here too, but I'm in the minority....I don't like open water fishing too much. Have a boat, but it's for skiing and I've been thinking about trading her in on a jet ski that me and the family would get more use out of anyway!! Already planning for next hard water season!!! Open water is for skiing!!!
Jim Hudson
I hear ya Dr. Kehr.. Still a bit of ice around these parts too... Hopefully if things work out, I will making a trip to the Cass Lake area to fish with a few people on Tuesday... Hopefully the fish and weather will cooperate...
