March 19 Meet FM'ers Roll Call

Sounds like a plan. Friday night everyone heads to the restaurant of there choice, or as a group. Saturday....Pot Luck..Fish BYOB (Bring your own Beef) (I will also have a grill) and then post what else you are willing to bring. Keep in mind, it looks like we will have in excess of 50 people.

Greggles, Your welcome to fish with me and the kid sense you are staying where we are. Warning , I know nothing about Rainy but Just plan on fallowing BD110 and company. But not too close, especialy if he's pullen a trailor.

My truck is back from the bodyshop and looking good I might add. I even think I have gotten over the fact that I had my head up my backside at the Winnie event.

That was until your post brought me back to that sad event. I'm not even sure I'll make it thru the day.

I'm just kidding that some funny stuff. and for the record I'm thinking of leaving my trailer at home. Because I'm sure it was my trailers fault.

fisherking01, I too am having trouble with some of the guys comitting at my end. So as it turns out, I'm sitting on a 3 bed room at the Rambler and fishing alone. I'm not worried, but just wanted you to know you aren't the only one alone. It'll be a great time. My first FM event!

MinnesotaMuskie, I'm still waiting to hear from one guy. If he's in, then there's still one bed open, and Warren from the Rambler mentioned we could get a cot, which would make room for two(total of 4 guys). If my friend is a no-go, then I've got two open beds. As stated earlier, it's non smoking, and I like to stay up and socialize (but that doesn't need to be done in the room if someone is trying to sleep) I'm a fun guy, but not the guy who's jumping off the balcony at 2:30 in the morning. If you are interested, let me know and we'll go from there.

Hemlock I know I enjoy the first, second and fifth of the list but Im not sure about third and forth. I will have to get a hold of you and give them a try. I have some Blue Fox Tinglers that we may have to barder with. They arent made anymore. Ill e at the Rambler as well.

I talked with Warren at the motel and he indicated he has a gas grill that he will have out for our use and he also indicated that they have a cooler that we can use to store food in if we need to do so. He further indicated that they would be setting a table up in the lobby on Sat. night to put food on and would do whatever else (within reason) to accommodate this group. I am bringing my fryer and a bunch of fish breading that we can use to fry fish or whatever else you may want to deep fry. So we now have two grills and two fryers. Again Sat. night is a pot luck so please bring something for everyone to share.

Should be a fun time!!!

For the ones who are still wondering about my extra beds, I haven't forgot about you. Things at my end just keep getting more and more confusing. There's another guy in the mix now. I'm trying to pin them down to an answer asap!

For those of you that still need a place to crash, I have a bunk house and small house in Williams that can sleep around 8 or 9 people. The bunk house has an outside outhouse and no water, but there is water and shower in the main house.

It is about 50 miles back to the Falls from there.

I probably will not get there until late Friday night, as I have a guide trip on Friday.

Well, I've managed to fill my room up with the guys I had first intended to. They just like keeping me in suspense. So... sorry to fisherking01 and minnesotamuskie, but I don't have room. I sure hope that doesn't completely wreck any plans you had to come to this gathering. Should be lots of hotels at the Falls, I would think.

Is there room for maybe four more? I'm waiting to hear back from the Brother-in-law to see if he and two other friends are interested in going up to have a try at the big water.

I'm hoping to hear in the next couple of days so i can arrange some rooms. It just sounds like too much fun to miss out!

There's always room for more. You will probably have to find a different motel. I believe the others are full. There are plenty of motels up there. Soemone should have an opening still. I will try the Int's Falls Chamber of Commerce. I'm sure they can help you out.

Just got to thinking, does anyone keep plowed roads up there? My guess is yes, but when we come up we won't have any ATVs or sleds, just 4 wheel drive.

Well gentleman, it sounds as though walleyechar is in. We are going to try and make Rainy on Saturday. From the sounds of things, Long Point may be the spot on LOW. I was out Friday over Pine with MercMan, his dad, two cousins, and 1Dirtball. We set up in about 32', and moved in to around 20' around 4 o'clock. We caught enough for a nice fish fry, but by no means hot action. Saturday the same crew plus Fisky went to 5Mile, with no luck at all. I haven't heard anything from out of the Morris road, or Zippel. I don't do the tip-up thing, so Fisky or Pat will have to weigh in on that topic. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Just a quick note of warning... For those of you going from LOW and Rainy then over to Red. DO NOT have any walleye in your coolers, in your vehicles, or anywhere else. This is a real No No on URL. To quote the regs. "It is unlawful to have any walleye in posession regardless of where taken while on or fishing Red Lake".

I really wish I could get in on this it sounds like the ultimate bash to end the season. But we are getting buried at work. Be careful out there and have fun.

I talked with BD110 along the shore and recieved a bunch of e-mails from a number of FMer's a few days ago and this trip is going to be something great! That is, if I can get out of work. I'm still waiting to hear back on that schedule, but it shouldn't be a problem to get a co-worker to cover for me. If I do get stuck working I'm just wondering if there's any chance of meeting up with the crew and just fishing URL. Also, how long does everyone plan on fishing on Red? ...a few hours? ...through the night? I should have a radio so I should be able to find everyone on the lake anyways. Hopefully none of that will be an issue and I can meet up with everyone. Maybe catch some fish too?

Wow what a stroke of luck. Things are finally busting loose here at work looks like I can sneak on up there on SAT - TUE. Already booked a place down the road at the Days Inn (the 23rd street and 53 a few blocks down). So as I see it Sat Morning Rainy. Sun LOW and possibly late Sunday or Monday URL. I gotta get all my stuff ready kinda quick but all can still be done. Cool now just see if the boy can squeeze some time out or I'm running solo. Oh yeah gotta get something together for the pot luck.

Questions? Will there be a rough adgenda updated before the departure date so us later arrivers can find the groups.

Will I need extension foer my power auger. I am assumming I will since this week we appear to be making Ice still even down here. I heard it was at or below zero last night up there.
