Jeremy airjer W
I'm not sure who the guy was handing out the scenic tackle go devils before the winnie tourney, But I would like to thank him and scenic tackle for making me a believer in spoons. I recieved the last Perch Go Devil that morning. I caught most of the perch and 1 nice walleye with that spoon. I started thinking there must be something to these lures. My dad and I decided to head up to Red for the first time to see if we could find some of those famous Red Lake Crappies. I remebered many guys talking about the spoons and presentation and wondered if these would be the ticket for our day of fishing. We stopped for bait and decided to buy a perch go devil for my dad just incase (it had been 15-20 years since he had been on the ice so I new he didn't have one)we found our spot and set up. The first thing that went down the hole was the go devil and sure enough I caught my first red lake crappie. A nice 13 incher. I handed my dad the other go devil and sure enough he pulled in his first red lake crappie, which came off at the top of the hole and headed straight for the bottom. Those were the only two fish, besides 1 eye (18-20") that was promptly returned to be caught another day, that we caught. We talked to several people that had been there for days and had 3 or 4 fish to show for it. We decided not to stay for the evening bite but I hear it was good and i'm sure we would have caught a few more with our Senic Tackle. Thanks againjer
Dan Wood
Those Go Devils are great for eyes and crappie especially.. I've also done real well with the Go Devils for jumbos. If you like the Go Devils, you'll really like the Angel Eyes as well from Scenic Tackle. The Angel Eye has a wider action and can be a very good search lure for finding aggressive fish as it swings a good distance away from the center of your hole. I almost always have one tied on. Dave
airjer, not only do the Go Devils catch fish, the paint quality from Scenic Tackle is top notch and will last a long time; meaning, you spend less money in the long run.
Kylersk
I too got to try the Go Devils this weekend. I used the 1/16 version and caught 3 crappies right away. My buddy was only catching sunnies with his rig, so I borrowed him a go devil. He was still catching sunnies... It was kinda funny to see a small sunny somehow bite and get 3 hooks in it's mouth. Later in the day, it slowed down quite a bit. Then after dark, I couldnt get much.. so I had to downsize to a small jig, then the crappies started hitting again. Overall I was impressed, at least early, with the results of the go devil. I guess at night the fish were just in the mood for something smaller. Captain B.R.K
Great news on the glo-devils! I have heard nothing but great reviews on these spoons and purchased my first card this last Thursday. Now all I can do is read about your testiments until I can put them to use!! Hopefully those Tonka gills and crappies like em'!!
Ray Esboldt
I too am a big fan of the smaller Go Devils for crappies. I usually tip them with a minnow head or small minnow. They really seem to be the ticket for agressive crappies in dirty water lakes.I would really like to see a 1/32nd ounce size for bluegills. For all I know, Jeff Beckwith already has that out there. Borch
Oh I really like from Crappies, perch and eyes. I mostly use the 1/8 qnd 1/16 oz versions with a minnow head or some maggots.
Got_Ice
What type of action do you use for these lures. I think they would work nice but just wondering how most of you use them. Thanks, Jeff
hanson
Got_IceOthers may have a different method but I like a combination of larger jigging motions along with shaking, or pounding as Dave Genz would say.I'll jig it up a couple times and then let it sit while very gently shaking the rod or jigging it up and down a quarter inch or so.It seams like most of my hits will come on the drop or when it is just sitting there 'shaking'. Scenic
Jer,That was me passing them out and just kind of staying low in the back of the crowd. It was great meeting a lot of people and putting names and faces together. I am glad to hear you did well with them. You are most welcome and thank you for the report!! Reports like these are why some of us do what we do. Also thanks goes to all the other Scenic Tackle supporters out there. We do our best to make only quality products and without happy fisherpeople there is no business. Ray,You just never know what new items we may have in store for next year. I do listen to what the fisherman want and I will say Scenic Tackle has quite a few new items for next year already in the plans..Jeff
Deitz Dittrich
Jeff, say it isn't so.. expanding the Go devils to one step further would be way too cool! I pretty much have a Go Devil tied on all the time now.. It has become my search bait when checking holes, and to be honest, I have been amazed at how many fish I catch, even without bait most times. If there was even a smaller version, not sure how you could keep the fish off them.
Solidarn
Hello everybody, I'm not from Minnesota, however your disscusions are very info packed and I've quickly become a regular reader of these forums. I live in Erie, PA and our ice fishing season is much shorter than yours but I think its just as addicting. I've read a lot of convincing stories about the Go Devil and I bought a card of 1/8th and one of 1/16. I recieved mine 3 days after ordering using this site. Great service!! Tommorow will be the test. I'll be out to get some jumbo perch. I'll post my experience, hopefully they rock as much here as they do there. Thanks Again, Solidarn

chunkytrout
Jeff don't forget the "laker" sized Angel Eye next year. My lakers this year have all come on the walleye size but one up would be sweet! Thanks again.
