james_walleye
Im not a fan of a Moss trade, i dont believe you can up and trade the most explosive player in the game, but i have been looking at the rosters of some teams i believe might be interested just too see what would come our way in the scenario of a trade happening. I'd like too hear what other peoples hypothetical trades our too. Heres one too to a dolphin team that could use a weapon. Trade Moss too the dolphins and in return get a great middle LB in Zach Thomas. Maybe get the great corner Patrick Surtain ( i dont think they would give up Sam Madison but maybe). Or maybe throw in their #1 draft pick from this year which happens too be the second pick overall and get Braylon Edwards from Michigan. You've drastically improved your defense here and also brought in a young WR that everyone says is going to be a gamebreaker also. Unfortunately i dont know if a team like the fins would offer all of this up, you just arent going to get the trade value out of Moss that you should.Or heres another one too Washington, everyone knows Dan Snyders big ego would allow him too maybe give up what it takes too trade Moss. Maybe Moss for their young safety Sean Taylor and the young MLB Antonio Pierce who was 4th in the NFC in tackles and was also up there in passes defended so we know he can cover in pass defense. Then get there #1 pick this year which is #9 overall and get Mike Williams, the reciever from USC who sat out this past year. Again, i dont know how much teams are willing to give up in a trade for Moss. Maybe im right on, maybe its more than this, maybe they wont give up that much for him.Lets hear your guys' scenarios
Guest
Whatever you do..you cannot trade him to the NFC.
otto_man
13 games 49 receptions 767 yards 13 touchdowns looks like about a 3rd round draft choice and a 12 pack...
lawdog
13 touchdowns is a career to most Cheeseturd receivers!!!Besides, that 13 games was really only about 10. They screwed up when they didn't pull him out right after the injury. 3-4 of those games he couldn't hardly even play.I don't think we should trade him, but if we do, I TOTALLY agree it can't be to a NFC team. MJR
Moss against the pack.14 games 14 tds 70 catches 1,313 yds Talk about beating up on a team.
Guest
Yea, that's worth at least a case and a half!! Maybe we should trade him to the Pack and make him go through the agony of life after Favra....no, cause then we'd have to hear it from all the cheeseheads of how great he is and how we never appriciated him here...LOL
PikeTipper
I heard a pretty good trade rumor this morning. Moss for a new stadium.

Down to Earth
Just saw this over on Fanball. Vikings: Friend says Moss is ready to be traded If there isn't a change of heart here, it looks like for the best thing to do would be for the Vikes to cut their losses and trade him for the best available deal. Similar to the TO/49ers deal last year in a way only Moss is still under contract. THE NEWS The 20-year mentor of Randy Moss said Thursday that the Vikings' wide receiver is ready to be traded. "He's not happy there, and I think he wants to go somewhere else," Sam Singleton told the Pioneer Press on Thursday. "He knows he's not going to win anything there." Singleton has known Moss for more than 20 years and coached him as a youth in baseball and football. OUR VIEW Vikings' head coach Mike Tice placed the "untouchable" label on quarterback Daunte Culpepper during his weekly KFAN radio show on Wednesday, but stopped short of using the same term to describe Moss' status with the team. There will be rumors throughout the offseason that Moss will be traded. At this point, we're not sure whether absentee owner Red McCombs cares enough about the team to approve or reject any trade offers the Vikings get for Moss. MJR
Moss numbers against the pack are a little low because of the 2 games during the season when he didn't do much. I think he was hurt. With the org the way it is and with top notch coaches and judges of talent I would say if he is traded we will get some players along the lines ofWarren Sapp2nd round draft picksChamp Bailey
fishyguy
If we can only get a case of beer for Moss, what would you get if you packaged Driver and Walker together? A half empty bottle of Ripple? And don't give me that dump about Walker being in the Pro Bowl. One very good year does not make a player.

Kylersk
Another reason I think Moss will be traded. If the vikes trade him, they take a cap hit with his signing bonus this year. The money is already paid, but the rest of the bonus, would be applied to this years cap figure. This will enable Red to stay above the league minimum for cap figure, but not spend any more money on other players to get to that minimum. MJR
Musky, I was thinking along the lines of the vikings ability to make extremely poor trades.
beer batter
Kind of interesting Peter King article in SI.com on the Moss trade speculation. He thinks 4-1 odds that Moss goes to Oakland for 1st round pick and CB Philip Buchanan, and 5-1 odds to Baltimore for 1st round pick and LB Adalias Thomas. He then lists Washington, NYJ, and Chicago as other high odd possibilities. No mention of Miami which is where it seems everyone else is speculating Moss will be going.Everyone has Moss bringing in a 1st round pick along with a starting defensive position. I would think Miami or Oakland would be best based on their draft positions. I believe each have top 10 choices to offer. Personally I think Moss would make a great fit down in Oakland's vertical passing game that Al Davis loves so much. Oakland has never had an issue bringing in a player with a troubled past either. lawdog
ESPN is now saying its a 60/40 chance he will be traded. IF they trade him, it has to be to an AFC team and they better get a STUD Defensive starter at either CB or LB, a HIGH first round pick and a lower pick in my opinion.I see in that same ESPN story it indicates that Moss has better numbers than any reciever ever at this many years in the league. I said somewhere he could be the best reciever ever and got climbed all over for saying it. I still think its true, the guy can change a game like NO OTHER RECIEVER. I am still against trading him. I say spend some of the $20,000,000 we are below the cap and get someone. Trade Bennett or O. Smith instead...they should be worth a good defender. Stratosman
Sure, you say spend, Red says not! Defense wins super bowls, not offense! Moss doesn't want to be here I don't think, why would he? I'm starting to lean more towards trading him and picking up the defense, the rest of the guys on offense will pick up the slack. I do think Moss is the best by far, his stat's prove that, he will be one of the best ever, can't even doubt it if he continues on the same pace. If we want a championship here in MN we need to start to focus on defense, if that means trading away some offense, so be it. We had better get a stud and a first and third round or something like that for Moss. A couple limebackers would be key, get a replacement for Russell, someone who can actually tackle someone, I like Winfield and Williams gets the job done as well as Chavous. Keep Claiborne and get rid of the rest of the linebackers.
The Donk
Stratosman, you have got to be out of your mind if you don't think we need a leader at the linebacker position, We better get a stud linebacker that can actually lead a defense... Philip Buchanon from the Raiders would not help our defense the way that a Ray Lewis/type linebacker would, but maybe a draft pick would turn out a decent linebacker if we went that way Overall, we better get what he is really worth, pull a Hershel Walker on someone or nothing...Donk out
kato811
we really dont need to trade moss what we need to do is trade red for maybe someone like glen taylor a owner that cares about winning games an will do what it takes. an it would be a lot easier to get a stadium with him as the owner
