Daytona Winner?

I think it's time to start to here about who's going to do what. Wiil DEI have what it takes or will the Hendricks cars make the charge?

Little e gonna have a tough year. Starting with Daytona.

Gordon, Johnson, Newman prolly have the best shot at daytona.

Personally I like to see Kenseth win a super speedway.

Uncle Bill I don't mean to disagree but Neuman will never win a super speedway race till he figures how to keep his car on the track and not in the air.

Little E may even be better this year now that he doesn't have to worry about family friction in his race team. It could go the other way too, it will be interesting to see. There will be a few real strong teams this year.

My vote for the Daytona 500 winner....Earnhardt Jr.

My sentimental vote.....Rusty Wallace or Mark Martin

I'm pulling for Jr, yah I know about all the changes at DEI, instead of thinking that all the changes are bad, like everyone else, I'm thinking they will be good.

Here we are talking about Daytona and the JR hype machine is already in full swing...

JR is my hands down choice for once again being the most overrated ever. 5th place last year, NOT the Championship AGAIN just like EVERY other year he's had, an underachievement. This year with his new crew will be no different.

Now, aside from that, trying to pick a winner on the plate tracks is about as bad an idea as trying to fart with real bad diarhea... Nevertheless, I'm going with Jimmie Johnson.

It'll be either the 24, 48, 20 or 97. I'll bet 10 bucks that if these cars are on the lead lap with three to go that all will be in the top five at the checker, or in some wreck caused by a prerenial favorite blocking. But really it's anyones game at these stupid plate races.

You cant count out little E,as he is so great on the superspeedways,but look for not my favorite Busch as he is getting pretty good,just dont know if a Ford can be that fast.

Whatever the outcome one thing is for sure- Mark Martin and Rusty Wallace will be bawling and complaining about something after the race.

I think DEI and Hendricks teams will both be on the game at Daytona, I am going out on a limb and saying Greg Biffle will win, I believe he is the darkhorse at Daytona.

Nice to see everyone out posting again. Looks as if Jr. is the most people would like to see win the 500. What about the 15 car I didn't see anyone talking about him.

I think the 15 car will be in the mix as well. Plus, Truex Jr. will be in the 1 car, and I am sure if he can get behind the 8 or 15, he'll stay there to help.

The Hendricks and Rousch cars will be strong too, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a Childress car right up there. Have I covered all my bases yet?

The Evernham cars should be tough with Slugger Labbe and a couple other new engineers over there this year. Slugger's pretty well known as having been a big part of making DEI a plate track powerhouse...

These plate races are just too unpredictable to call. They don't always have much to do with being goood or not, just being in the right place and having help... Also, one wreck could take out all of DEI and HENDRICK and there goes the regular winners of pretty much all the plate races.

I have many favorite drivers. So to narrow it down some I have thought long and hard on it. Jr first, (just to prove the nay sayers wrong). Waltrip, J. Burton, T. Stewart, Martin, Jarrett, Sadler,K. Kahne(that kid is awesome) and my long shot is Truex. This guy has talent! I also like J. Johnson, just don't care for the obnoxious attitude at Hendricks. They are good drivers, for sure, but loose the attitude-gain more fanbase. Just my 2 cents.

Really good post. The topic is Daytona, not the championship. Let me see, didn't Jr. sweep Daytona. The 125, 500, and Busch. Thought so. For a minute there I thought I might be "OVER RATING" him.

Sifty, I think all they did was make the starting grid a little easier to follow. What was it, the top 35 are now gauranteed a starting spot all year. I think that was the number.

It will be a DEI car, but talk about drama ! Just love that track and I think there will be a slew of guys wanting to work with Jr. and keep the Hendrick boys in the rear view mirror.
