Northlander
I just thought I would tell everyone how I like my FishBright Lantern shield. After using it several times I cant believe how much more light I get out of my lantern! By reflecting the light downword the Fishbright puts the light where you need it most, by your holes and where you can see to tie hooks etc. The difference is night and day and the 75% more light claim is valid. No more dark spots either. I was concerned that my lantern wouldnt fit in its case with the FishBright on it but it fits just fine. Also you can save fuel by running the lantern on 1/2 or 3/4 and still have good lighting. You guys who like lantern heat and lighting should give the FishBright a try! Give Jay Soderbloom a call or order off the HSOforum. www.soderbloom.com Tell him Northlander sent ya. Also available locally at L&M stores. river-rat4
Northlander-I just bought one online. I have the side shield style and it works gr8 4 open water and keeps from blinding you while navigating the river. This one should work well in the Otter. I'll let you know the reports. Thanks- RR4

Fisherman For a Lifetime
Sounds awesome. Hey, I just bought a "North Star" by Coleman - it's their brightest lantern with just 1 (BIG) Mantle. Anyone else have one...? Comments ...?
BandB
I got one last year for my b-day in march but have not used it yet, I cant wait to fire it up.
arbuck
Fisherman For a Lifetime, I have had 2 Northstars, very bright lanterns but I have had the same trouble with both of mine. The top thing where the mantel attatches works its way loose and any time you move the lantern the mantel breaks . The first one I returned and the second one I still have taking up space in the garage. I will not buy another one and now have the little one that has a chain on it for a handle (can't remember the name of it) but I haven't needed to use it yet because I also got a Prinston-tech Aroura and haven't needed a lantern since. I hope you have beeter luck with your Northstar than I did. Maybe I was just to ruff on mine.
Northlander
I also had 2 Northstars and returned them both. Wouldnt light half the time and Mantles were a hassle to retie. Those that work are bright but my lantern with the FishBright gets me the light right where I need it and thats on the floor of my house. I hardly ever use my headlamp anymore! Those who ordered them will love them. Good luck guys and when they are too bright just turn down your lantern till ya get the light ya need. Also make sure you dont look into the light! It takes a while for the blindness to subside.
HoleHopper
Northlander, Thanx for the heads up on a what looks like a good product. I never new they had such a thing for Colmans. It looks like it would also work great for tracking deer at night becouse now the light is going down. The more I think about it, the more uses I come up with. For a price of $12 who can beat it! Thanx again! YIIIPPPPPEEEeeeeeeeee! More stuff!!!

BD110
Hey Northlaqnder and gang, I saw this topic and thought I should give a report. I was lucky enough to win one of these units at your early Ice get-together up outside Duluth. It seems to work very well and when your done using it the set-up still fits into my lantern case. I have the some what of a purple colored case. If you get the chance to try one out you will not be sorry IMO... Take care , Tom (BD110)
Northlander
Ed I have 3 different lanterns and the FishBright fits them all just fine. The taller narrower lantern just needs the tabs turned in a bit but no biggy. Fits in 2 of the 3 cases and I havent tried it on the 3rd yet. Call Jay and he can tell ya if there is any lantern it wont fit. I think its universal for all but not 100% sure. www.soderbloom.com
Dry_Fly
Took your advice Northlander and ordered one. I was up at L&M Supply and they didn't carry them at all like the ad said they did. Came home and ordered one on line. Just try to decide whether or not to change my lantern before using it is all. Nice to have first hand knowledge of these products on what works and what really dosen't. Thanks

Granny
Picked up my Fish Bright last night and wow does it make a big difference! If anyone is thinking of getting one, take out your lantern and light it in the garage. Hold it about 5-6 feet off the ground and look at the shaddow it leaves under the lantern. Now put on the Fish Bright and there is no shaddow. Great product Jay! Granny
