Ahhhh, the "Classic" our team is better than yours...

To all the Pack "Fans" out there, be my guest and preach to the heavens about how your team is "Americas" team...

And how "God" loves the Pack...

And how your organization the "Classiest" one in the NFL...

And how you have the "Best" and most "Passionate" fans in the NFL...

And keep saying to Viking fans "How many "Championships" do "YOU" have?"...

And how Vince Lombardi is the "Greatest" coach in the history of the NFL...

And how Brett Farve is the most "Gutsy" and "Brave" player ever to put on the uniform...

And how we Viking fans use too many "Quotation Marks" when we type...

And all I will say in reply is "GO VIKINGS"...

ummm...go Packers! haha...Hey, I grew up in Wisconsin a Packer fan, then moved to Minnesota about 12 years ago...i tried to convert, but honestly the Vikings just let their fans down too much, always a letdown come postseason...but go T'wolves and Wild, even though no hockey this season

Mostly because of their stupid fans who post drivel like this thread and think they are the best team in the league every year (even when they are 7 and 9).

We should think about outlawing cheeseheads! smirk.gif

Having lived in Wisconsin for my first 13 years I have spent the last 25 still being a Packer fan. That aside, I can't really understand why anyone actually likes the Vikings. I mean really likes them, follows them year-round, and gets truly excited about them. They score points, and they win football games, but what is there to like besides that?

On the other hand, there is much to dislike. The Vikings have perhaps the preeminent record in all of sports for choking in big games. They play in a very unappealing stadium, as a northern team inside which is a sin in and of itself. I could see how they would have been more appealing when they played at Met Stadium but the Metrodome? How can you get excited about that place other than the noise? Then there is the decades long history of DWI's, the Arctic Blast incident, their horrible owner Red McCombs, and Denny Green. Other than fanning the flames of statewide pride periodically, and a few winning streaks and high scoring games, how can you really like them?

The Packers have had their share of controversy over the years, most recently with the Chmura episode. But they have a very proud history of NFL championships, Super Bowls, etc. And no matter how sick you become of the national media fawning over #4, I can't see how anyone can really dislike the guy for how he plays. If you have ever been to Lambeau Field, and felt the emotion, excitement, and camaraderie in the air there I believe you would see a big difference between the fans. Jokes about paint thinner aside, I've been to several Metrodome games and I never felt anything like that.

It's kind of a mystery to me why people are Vikings fans. I respect everyone's right to be one, of course, but on balance I don't really understand it. Maybe if you grew up with it and it was a family event, but I am truly perplexed at how a love of the Vikings comes to be.

Didn't the NFL recently do some schedule changing for the remaining Packer games? I thought I heard something about the large demand to view the remaining games, and how lucritave profits would be if the Packer games had better time slots. Is there truth to this?

Wow, can you imagine that.......Only for the Pack!

PS: Do they "black out" Viking games in Mn? Someone told me they did, I find that hard to believe that any state would do something like that.

How can there be Viking fans? you said it. Through all the dump, the good and the bad we are here. This is our team. Bottomfeeder whats going on buddy? Superior housing is cheaper. blush.gif Just Kidding! I am married into a true packer family and they ask these questions every year. All I have to say is Christmas Eve

Ok I have more to say.

Do you remember when the Pack got the new Lambeau? How they had to replace the grass in the end zones after the first game with the Vikes?

Thats cause Moss was all over them!!! grin.gif

I told this Joke on Lake Michigan while fishing and heard quite a bit of profanity. I mean for a team that is a joke why can't you guys take one?

Great post I must say, Being a Packers fan that was great and very true. Now on the other hand this Vikingsfreak stated "no comment... I don't feel like typing 10 paragraphs to prove you wrong!"

Because you probably dont have a come back for that response.

As long as Cullpecker is the QB, the Vikes will go nowhere.

You nailed it on the head my boy.... I find my most memorable moments, when it comes to the Vikes, is sitting around listing to my Dad complain about how they are going to go into the tank once again... That is what being a fan of the Vikes is all about, complaining and having our hearts broken at the end of the season, yet the next year we are still there in front of our TV's complaining about them all over again.... Heck, I get skunked and complain all the time when I ice fish, does that mean I do not love ice fishing? No, it means that I love it so much that I am passionate when it does not work out... And as far as the comment on how anyone could be a Viking fan, easy, I grew up with them and they are my team... I am not a free agent fan, I don't hop around from team to team just becuse they might win more games or championships than the Purple, I will stick with my team through the thick and thin(which has been going on for a long time it seems)... Like I said earlier, "GO PURPLE!!"....

I understand that explanation, it makes a lot of sense. It really is the reason why all of us are fans, for any particular team in any sport. It just seems that the Vikings make it very hard on their fans, and that most of them (not all, I must add) deserve better. That would start with a better owner, a new stadium (paid for by said owner), and a return to outdoor football.

But I just can't see how the Vikings will ever throw off that choking albatross. It is so much a part of their history, that I think it has to play into the players minds at critical times. But heck, the Red Socks did win the World Series.

Not that I want the Vikings to win a Super Bowl, but just saying.

A couple of comments about cheeseheads,

I am sure most of you do not, and have not played for the Packers. Are you aware of that?

Still don't care about victories prior to 1975.

How can you? Do you celebrate them each year, reflect back I am curious as to how that brings you joy, especially if you were not alive to see it.

Such a rich history.

Keep telling yourself that.

If John Deere wants to build another stadium in MN like they did in GB, not sure if we would let them. However we will have a new stadium in the next few years.

Denny Green, prior to Arizona I saw him on some bass fishing show and he was in the snickers boat. You have to listen to 93.7 in the morning on Fridays they have this guy who impersinates Denny and is pretty funny.

How much beer you drink at the games has no outcome on the teams success.

When the Pack signs a player when is it that he becomes the best player to ever play that position, before or after the first game.

Yes the whole nation wants to watch every single packer game.

You ever listen to KFAN, Karl Gerbshmit...is he a good representation of the Packer Nation.

Here is a reality check for ya....Philly

It's funny that the queen fans that have no 'rich tradtition' to celebrate are always the ones that say a teams history means nothing. Goto Lambaeu, watch a game, and visit the Packer hall of fame, only then will you even remotely begin to understand.

Yes, most likely the Eagles should win this weekend, just like they did the weekend they played the queens.

You folks are like a vikings cornerback, you have very short memories, otherwise the pain and suffering would be too much to bear.

I am glad my team has history, traditions and championships.

But let's talk about recent Packer history, like in the last ten years, 5 division championships, 2 superbowl appearances, and one championship. Thats a pretty good showing.

Also if anyone acttually wanted to build a stadium I think you should accept, instead of playing in the "giant inflatable toilet" as the 93X guys call it. As for "However we will have a new stadium in the next few years." I think you should use one of your own quotes "Keep telling yourself that."

Who cares of the Metrodome sucks (which it does)... I would watch the Vikings play in a freaking parking lot if I had too…. Doesn't matter whether you play in a multimillion dollar stadium or a plastic piece of dump, you still have to go down the field and score and as long as the Vikings are around I will be rooting and watching them with all of the excitement I can muster… And as far as tradition goes, the Vikings have a rich tradition and it is obvious by all of the Viking haters out there who constantly remind us of the failures that seem to plague the Vikings over the years… I, as a Viking fan, will basque in the crushed glory of the Purple and all I will say, once again, is "GO PURPLE!!"….

You must be the exception to the rule as it wasn't too long ago when the Vikes would play the Pack in the dome often times there seemed to be more Packer fans than Viking fans. True Vikings may be passionate about their team, but looking at history they do not compare to the Packers. Take one look the history on availability and wait lists of each of the teams season tickets. It isn't even close.

Packers = Tradition = Pasionionate Fans

Vikings = No Tradition = Bandwagon Fans

You're going to "basque" in their crushed glory. Does that mean you are going to attack the spanish?

I have to agree that the Vikings do have a rich tradition of choking. Other than that one, I'm not sure what other "rich traditions" they might have. But I don't want to sound bitter or small-minded, as folks have the right to be proud Vikings fans. I wish most of them well, except on certain Sundays.

Walk around Minneapolis when the Vikes are winning and you will see Viking jackets everywhere. Walk those same streets after the Vikes lose a couple and there is not a Viking jacket to be found. Walk around WI and win or lose there are Packer jackets everywhere. You all know thats true. Sad but true.

have you people ever been to green bay?? I have,to watch the vikes play the pack a couple years ago there is nothing to do there its a hole in the earth it smells like @ss there is about a handfull of bars and they are all hicks everybody talks about how loyal they are? well I would be too if there was a 200 square mile radius of nothing to do at all but cow tipping or packer games well you cant cow tip during the day so I guess I will watch the packers, minnesota has 4 major sports teams all of which are very good and are in the playoffs every year what does wisconsin have to show for the packers won in 96 whoo hoo when did they win before that? 1950's? of course the packer fans hate the dome cuz you cant win there the vikings havent had a blackout game on tv in years and I wouldnt suggest wearing "pillpopper" favre jersey in the dome unless you want trouble I dont know why the packer fans get so upset with vikings fans on these forums just realize when favre retires the packers will be the chicago bears or the lions for about 8 years so enjoy that overrated baby now come 2005 now starting for the greenbay packers....Doug Pederson!!!!

So all of the folks booing and leaving, the great Flambeau field, early during the playoff loss 2 years ago to Atlanta was not bandwagon? Oh, they must have been rushing over to the Packers Hall of Fame.... Call me bandwagon, I don't give a rats arse, when Dante throws a pick, I yell "Bench Him!!" at the TV and when he throws a bomb to Moss a mins later I say that he is the 2nd coming of Montana.... My favorite conversation with Packer fans (and believe me I know a few) is after Brett Far-va-ra, has a bad game, they will come up with a million excuses why it was not his fault.... But guess what, that is what being a Pack fan is all about, defending the unfalable one until the very end.... But go on and make broad strokes on how Vikings fans are, I will still BASQUE (oooohhhhh, I hope I am not corrected in my grammer) in the Vikings glow.... once again "GO PURPLE!!"

jegerjack,

Although your grammar leaves little to be desired, it is your spelling that could use a little help. You may wish to install IEspell on your computer so you can check your posts prior to posting them. If you use Firefox rather than Internet Explorer, a similar utility can be found here that will do the same thing.

You may not care a whit about your spelling, of course. But if you do, these are things that can help make your arguments look a little less silly. It's your choice.

I guess he does that for all the Packer fans, that way they can all understand. Since Wisconsin is soooo great, I'm sure Brett Favre will probably keep his family in that state after he retires right? I mean Mississippi or Wisconsin take your pick.... If he bails I have to assume that GOD, I mean Favre is making a statement about your state.

I find it ironic that the Vikes lose to an average Falcons team (Championship game '98) and a very average Falcons team beats the Packers on the fabled Lambeau field a few years later... Didn't see that payback coming did you packer backers?! Then we lose a birth into the playoffs on a 4th and goal (25 yards?) to the Cardinals, then the Pack losses on a 4th and 26 in the playoffs they got into based on that Cardinal play.... you see Packer fans your luck is all about to change... Bretts time is coming soon...... maybe you can bring back the Majik man or Lynn Dickey.

If you MN people think that the WI people only started loving the pack after Farve got there think again. That stadium has been sold out "every" game for 40 years (Farve was not born yet). There were some terrible seasons in that time. And it will be sold out for another 40. (And that is another reason why the world loves the pack, the fans). When I moved here from MN I hated the pack. I held out for almost 4 yrs until one game I saw Brett getting the living sh-- beat out of him. He had to go to the sidelines and throw up from getting hit in the stomach. The very next play he throws a touchdown pass. That was it. I was won over by Farve. Shortly before that when I was living in Minneapolis I watched the Vikes trade away their whole team for Walker. Then I watched Jerry Burns keep him on the sidelines because he did not like the management. One game he played Walker three plays. I can fully understand why the Vike fans jackets last so long for not being worn. The team does not deserve loyal fans.

    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
