Tony Stewart

I can not explain it, but for some reason I like Tony. He can drive, but sure has a temper. As far as the latest penalty he has acquired, I think it was fair, as it wasn't broadcast, and there was no punches thrown. But then to lose 25 driver, 25 owner pts, and get a $50,000.00 fine...he shoulda punched the cocky lil rookie! HEH HEH HEH. Some wanted to see Tony get his keys taken away for the Daytona 400. I think that would have been a bit too much. As it is, he has dropped from 5th to 6th in pts now. I should think that it would calm him down from now on.

I'll give you he is a good driver but, he is like the Dennis Rodman of NASCAR. Maybe it's just me but, no one likes him and everyone watches him(including me). He is good entertainment.

actually tony still races dirt tracks on the side when he has an open weekend. I saw him in wisconsin last year. Also, it is very important to point out that he is not a role model, and never asked to be one. He doesn't have the job of being nice, he has the job of raceing cars. And like him or not he's good at it. Go Rusty!!!!

What I don't understand is that I think Tony Stewart is way more of a winey cry-baby than Jeff Gordan ever was and every one loves to hate gordon and loves Tony stewart.

Tony is not half the crybaby that that homo Gordon is. Tony is the type of guy that you can really see his dirt roots shining through. He doesn't take any s**t from anyone, and doesn,t sugar coat answers to the press. Love him or hate him, he is one heck of a driver, who is not afraid to be aggressive.

First of all, I understand that most NASCAR fans are fiercely loyal and have driviers they love and drivers they hate. But what I hope is that on THIS forum we can try to refrain from "labels" on drivers for which we don't like.

I've visited other forums related to racing and people always get into the same habit of so-and-so Rules...and so-and-so Sucks! I think it's more enjoyable for everyone if our critiquing relates to events or if it can specify instances rather than name calling.

Again, not trying to ruffle feathers but I think it detracts from the credibility of the sport because I feel the actions of fans reflect upon a sport both positively and negatively.

outdoor ran obviously you weren't watching today when Tony went to Victory Lane. The first person to the car was a beautiful blond woman. I don't know her name but she was also at the race in Bristol.
As for Tony bumping the 9 car even Kane admitted that he got loose. With that said no one is saying anything about that jack*** Robbie Gordon. He ran right through David Green and all you hear is Tony,Tony, Tony. I agree that Tony has caused some of the critisism that he is getting but if you want to talk about something he did today other than winning you can talk about him running into that ***** Andretti. Tony had some harsh words about Andretti a few months ago but he was right. Andretti has no talent and should find another sport to get into. Bowling comes to mind.
Well I will jump off my soap box now and read something about fishing after all I thought thats why I logged on but this was fun. Later!

First of all, I have to agree with smallies24, in a nutshell-can't we all just get along? Anyhow, no matter how much I may be a fan of Tony's I have no doubts that there will be some penalties announced this week, both for him, and for Kahne's team members. Although I do not always agree with NASCAR's rules, penalties etc...we just have to accept them. One thing that did trouble me was Ray Evernham's comments about Tony-"He definently needs to get suspended, and he should have his a** beat". "Nobody has ever really grabbed him and given him a good beating, if he doesn't get suspended, maybe I'll do that!" Tssk tsssk tssk, Ray I'm sure was interviewed in the heat of the moment, but these remarks could come back to haunt him. Kasey Kahne on the otherhand, gained my respect once again, by not lashing out, calling names, and so on. He knows what everyone saw, and will leave it to the powers that be to decide. Good call! The king Richard Petty said it best...back in the day there were fights all the time, we just didn't have the media around like they do now. And that is where the problem REALLY lies in my book. NASCAR trying to make this sport look like a bunch of good ole' boys out on a 160+mph sunday drive, all smiles...blah blah blah, not going to happen. Maybe the media shouldn't be allowed in all areas? Or maybe NASCAR should just swallow the bitter pill and let it be seen for how it really is, no sugar coating! My 2 cents.

Sorry, I have to chime in here. What Stewart did yesterday was dirty! And we all know that it's not the first time he has pulled this s***! I hope he gets fined. I'm sure his sponsor is real proud of how he races and his bad attitude. I do agree that both sides should also get fined fighting in the pits.

Kasey Kahne was very composed when interviewed after the race but, I'm sure he was a little ticked off inside. I don't know if anyone remembers but these two had another get together a few races ago. Is there going to be retaliation? I hope not because Kasey has to much class to stoop to the level in which a couple of drivers are at(20 reasons come to mind). It was still a good race though, tony did have the strongest car all day. Too bad for J.Gordon but a great finnish. Just when you thought he was out, he pulls out a top 5. GREAT JOB #24!! Could tony do that? I highly doubt it.

Again all I hear is Tony Tony Tony. Robby Gordon drove right through David Green and nothing has been said. I guess the rules and driver opinions only count if you are top 10 in points.

Mr. "The Yeti" watch the race and listen to the interviews. Tony is strong but he did not run the 9 car out. Sometimes when a person has a bad thing going we all want to think everything bad related to any incident with that driver is wrong. That's just pure wrong. Yes I like Tony and always will. He has a strong will for competion and I love that. Yes he makes mistakes and so do we. But this is also what makes NASCAR, sorry Nextel. Still like the old name, another mistake. Mike

Hookup, I forgot to mention my thoughts on the Robbie Gordon-Jeff Green incident. I thought that too was dispicable. And it isn't only us in this forum that have seemed to forgotten about this, but the media as well. After talking the race over with some guys at work, I came to this conclusion...right or wrong, I would like feedback on it, (and I am SURE to get feedback!). Seems to me, ever since Dale Earnhardt Sr. died, I feel that NASCAR, and others have forgotten that "rubbin is racin", that almost up to that point in NASCAR history, bumping, shoving and spinning someone out was simply racing, and accepted. It was a part of racing. But since Feb. 2001 any contact between cars has been scoffed. (Not incinuating someone caused Dale Sr to wreck) All I am saying is, the sport has changed drastically. I don't want to see someone hurt, we've lost too many as it is. I DO however believe NASCAR turns their heads ALOT to certain drivers, alot of favoritism going on. To me, a bump and run should be allowed, as long as you don't take anyone out, or put them to the wall. Then it is simply rekless, and risking lives of others. The same the aero-loose situation, where you get someone loose, and drop beneath them and pass. No matter who you are, wrecking someone is now considered wrong, and should be. NASCAR needs to pull their heads out and hand out penalties to ANYONE who causes a wreck, regardless of who they are, or who they drive for! OK, time to cool off!
PS- If it is the same girl as last year, (Tony's girlfriend) her name is Jamie. Or as I like to call her...yummy smile.gif ha ha ha

I agree that rubbin' is racin' but I dont think NASCAR is to blame...I think some of the blame needs to fall on the drivers. THEY are the first to raise a voice when they have gotten moved over. I believe NASCAR has responed to the drivers.

It's my opinion that if a driver is holding someone up...good for him, but he shouldn't complain then when he gets shoved out of the way.

As far as yesterday's incident is concerned...I'm sure it wasn't intentional but it was reckless to be that close to a guy going into a turn...especially on a restart. Tony had the better car and didn't need to push it at that point in the race. I don't think he should be suspended. I by the way am not a big Stewart fan. I do think he needs a bit of an attitude adjustment. He is one of the finest all around drivers I have ever seen but he has been too impatient and has lead to him being reckless at times.

Was at Cedar Lake on mon. for the Outlaw race. I took my daughter who is 7 in to the pits to get the Dudes' autograph since she is a big fan. Was buying her a hat at the side of his trailer (only ones left there)and had Tony walk right by us. He owns Lasoskis' car.He was all alone and when we said hi to him he went in the door to the front of the trailer with out looking at us.Must have been in a hurry to tip a few more.
It was a great night for racing and they put on a great show.
The main had a couple of roll overs(including Steve Kinser ) and spin outs before local Craig Dolansky over took the Dude and held him off.
My little girl and I had a blast.

At first I thought some kind of punishment was in order. I now think the drivers should be left to settle it them selves on the track. I do think with all the drivers Tony's p'd off this year, he has a big target painted on his back, and retaliation is immenent and justified.
BTW, Last I checked, Tony was married to a big' ol.....well, lets just say his bride has reached maximum density. Perhaps thats why he's so frustrated. All the other drivers getting smooth with some fine leg, and Tony going home to a beast. Hehehe!!

I was lucky enough to get pit passes last year at Bristol and saw first hand what an a$$ Tony is. He walked around down there like his sh*t doesn't stink and always had 2 guys with him. The only problem, I was spending the week at Donnie Allison's house and Donnie and him are buddies so I had to be careful about what i said.
The week was pretty tough to take, spent the week at Donnie's house, hung out at their shop, he drove us around and showed us all the shops and where drivers lived. We had pit passes and watched the truck, Busch and Winston races from a Luxury Box!
We ran into Bobbie in a different suite and listening to those tell tell stories is pretty awesome.

The Allison's are great people....
