Boat goes on trailer lopsided

I notice that when I land my boat, it leans more to the right side of trailer. It isn't serious but it pushes a bit on the fender. I don't see anything off with any of the rollers. Is this unusual?

Could you be putting the trailer in too far?  I’ve noticed I’m better off keeping the roller trailers shallower on the launch than bunk trailers.  Let the rollers do the work of guiding the boat on.

You mean not have the back rollers underwater? That could be what I’m doing I just noticed the last three times  it seems to wanna lean to that side

Oh, I’d have the back rollers under water but not a lot further.  At least for my boat that works.  The axle of the trailer is under but not the fenders.  On my bunk trailers I’ve usually put it far enough in that the fenders are just under.

 

I just try a few different depths on a new to me trailer until I figure out what works the best.  The entire boat should be settled before pulling the rig out of the water.

 

And I don’t know if that IS the answer for you.  It’s just a thought.  Or you could put the beer on the left side and see if that helps too.

Find a spot deeper or shallower where the trailer is levelest.  Boat will float on level if trailer is crooked not much you can do. Ive had to load with tail lights out of the water before cause landing was so jacked up.

 I don’t see anything wrong with any of the rollers they are all working great so I’m not wondering if it was a crappy boat Landing. It’s done this three times so I’ll be hitting Lake superior in the next few weeks and we’ll see if it corrects itself

Guy at shorelander told me that I should be sure that the rear rollers are just at the water, no deeper.   If that isn't it, then good luck.

I have this issue with my dad's boat when loading.  seems no matter what we do sometimes, the only way to get it on the trailer straight is to hold the boat while pulling out of the water...not ideal especially with only one person...

I did that after fishing today and it worked.

The rest of the story is that in 98 when I bought my boat I could never get it on the trailer right.  So I up and called the factory down there in Iowa, as I recall.   Receptionist transfers the call to like their engineer dude. I tell him my problem and ask how to adjust the trailer or should I get those guide things.   He told me I was backing the trailer in too deep, and to only get deep enough to have the back rollers touching.  Done it that way ever since.

It was another example of me taking something that simple and make it more complex than it needs to be. Similar to thinking my trolling motor was bad but it just turned out to be old batteries

I figured something was wrong with the trailer and it needed to be adjusted or something.  That's why I called the mfg.   to find out how to adjust the trailer...  So we all do that stuff.

I have a roller trailer.  I have to make sure that my taillights are level in the water. If one side is higher than the other I might have to back my trailer in at a slight angle to make sure that it is level.   The cement slabs that are in the water aren't always level.
