Old Dave Genz Fish Trap Help

Does anyone know what model/generation of Dave Genz Fish Trap this is, I am trying to find old replacement parts for this but not sure who to contact to the parts. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I had one of those in the early nineties. No, not the gay nineties. I'd say 1992.

the house in the picture looks to be a fish trap one which was made I believe back in the early to mid 90's. I bought one of these at a auction one time and replaced the skin on it with a skin from a Scout. this was the original Scout of it's day. the fish trap two became the Guide and the Guide now became the Nanook of today.

Brad is correct, I think these were made in the mid-late 90s, this is the one man, the Guide was the two man version if I'm correct.

The 2 man was called the Fish Trap II back then. I had one of the above pictured and the II. Awesome shacks!

What parts are you looking for? Most things, if not available from Clam, can be purchased at your local hardware store!

Don't quote me on it but the sled should still the same as the scout today. I would guess any replacement tent would fit over it. Again, only customer service can answer that question though.

These had the square tubs with two, white Styrofoam strips laying in the channels for the runners. If it says "Cozy Calf" on it, it is really an old one, one generation after wood. Look at the blue carpeting on the plywood bench seat and the rear sloped shelf. The only current part that you could get from Clam is probably a tow rope. I got mine new in '91, along with a 7" Lazer and a FL-8.

I would have to agree. Bought mine in the original Cabelas store in Sydney, NE back when there was only one Cabelas store. Brings back a lot of memories!

Actually Jim, there was a model in between the blue ones and the wood ones. Some had a grey top and some had a cream top and others had a greenish top. I bought one in 1989. Gave it to a buddy 10 years ago and he still uses it today. I had a wood one before that. Not sure where that one went.

Would be kind of fun to get a post going of the generations of the one-man Fish Trap.

I had the cozy calf model. Since lost it. I loved the board in the back of the cozy calf for rods the canvas would sit on it and keep the rods from jousting around.

I have the same model Fish Trap one man. I got it in 1995, and still fish in it. I got a second one man 'Trap, with the next generation sled after the Cozy Cove, at a yard sale. The canvas was shot on the second one, with no way to get a replacement, so I parted it out. Still have the sled, and poles for it. Also have a 1997 vintage Fish Trap 3, too.

This is good info, I have the Fish Trap II as well. Really nice house that is still in great shape, I love the bench seat system in these. Only thing I don't like about them is they let the wind in like crazy if the wind is at your back.
