Corey Bechtold
I put this new "toy" on my FL-22 and all I can say is I am very impressed! Now I have a way to double check my math! lol This is a very inexpensive tool to add to ANY Vexilar and I would highly recommend getting one (or 2). Good fishing, Corey Bechtold
Matt Johnson
Here is a video on how to install the DD-100...
SalmonSlayer
Anyone know what they're asking for it?
frostbite
I think $50.
leech~~
They are right at the $49.95 $50 mark, but most place are out of them that I could see. There are a few on line.
LundProAngler
Wonder why they did not hook up the black connector to the transducer? Guess they forgot.
SalmonSlayer
Maybe I'm missing something, but, what's the point? Can't you read where bottom is already? $50 just so it's digital? If I needed a digital display that badly I'd buy a new Marcum...

In deep water, it keeps math work in the classroom and allows for more time catching fish!
DTro
I do agree that the digital readout is VERY nice and I’m glad to see they are putting them on a lot of the new units, however a $50 add on does seem to be a bit much (to me) for essentially displaying what is already there. I understand they aren’t free and Vexilar is in business to make a buck, but I think it is on the high side. That’s me though. You have to admit that its nice that Vexilar always seems to find a way to integrate these new add ons without them being clunky or obtrusive. Kind of a warm fuzzy knowing if they come out with something new it will most likely be able to be added on to your old unit
SalmonSlayer
Providing an accurate readout without the guesswork and counting the little depth marks is more than worth it. In deep water, it keeps math work in the classroom and allows for more time catching fish! I have the FL-12, so no math work necessary unless fishing 200 FOW,in which case I'd have to multiply by 10 which I guess I don't struggle with enough to justify $50. I still don't understand the need even if you hate math. If you can see your jig/lure/whathaveyou, the bottom and the fish, isn't that what really matters? I understand you'd want to know the approximate bottom depth for patterning fish. I guess I'm in the minority who thinks I can do a decent enough job of that with a stock unit. I can understand putting this on new units sold, but as an add on, I just don't see it.
Brad B
remember this is not just a digital depth read out it is also a battery status gauge. so you are really getting two things in one with this, so $49.99 in not out of line for the price. the D-130 battery status gauge alone sells for around $24.99. DTro
My FL22 already has a battery gauge. So no I really wouldn't be getting 2 things.
Brad B
My FL22 already has a battery gauge. So no I really wouldn't be getting 2 things. mine does too but what I was thinking is that I would upgrade to the DD-100 and then give the D-130 battery only gauge to my brother in law for his FL18 Genz pack which has neither on it. you could always sell your D-130 if you did upgrade to the DD-100. Corey Bechtold
It isn't for everybody and not a "necessity". One thing I like is it will help me locate subtle changes in depth from hole to hole that may tip me off to a possible pattern for the fish. I've always been descent with math but sometimes it's nice not to have to do it. Good fishing, Corey Bechtold
DTro
If its anything like marcum or HB's I sure wouldn't trust it for any subtle changes. Not only that, but its pretty easy to fool those things when one side of the cone is shallower or deeper than the other side. I do agree with the math thing though, and its one of the main reasons I really loved the HB.
pushbutton
Lol.... I was never good in math, and luckily have not had to do it with my "xyz" flasher for years now. And while i do stare at the depth constantly and constantly contemplate wether I am actually in "22 or 23" feet ..... what ultimately.... really.... matters..... is that I see the fish and the bait. Truly think the best attribute of this unit is the battery status gauge. I don't have one and seriously wish I did....would give me something else to stare at If I did have an older vex though, no doubt would pay the 50 bucks for both ........ Corey Bechtold
We are ultimately talking about a 50 dollar upgrade to ANY Vexilar ever made. It won't be for everybody but for some (like me) it is a valuable tool to add. It is currently on my FL-22 and Cole (age 12) already wants one on his FL-18! Good fishing, Corey Bechtold
brook100
I will definitly be adding one of these to my fl-8 pro pack. This is a great little accessory for us guys that bought the basic vexilar units that didnt come with any add-ons. Keep up the good work Vexilar! TravP
My FL22 will be getting one as soon as well.
swmndeerhunter
I'm getting one of these for sure especially given the original one doesn't work anymore on my vex. Also fishing in sw mn you look for differences in inches not feet. Hard to do that just looking at the screen.
thatoneguy
I don't get the value of this either, I guess. I'll save the $50 for minnows.
wishing for walleyes
Now to decide if I put one on my Fl-22 or Fl-20.My daughter always wants my Fl-22 when were fishing shallow water.
wishing for walleyes
I put them on both.
Corey Bechtold
Good decision! Whether or not you think it's worth the 50 bucks it is a nice addition to any existing Vexilar. Good fishing, Corey Bechtold
Charlie Mason
I put it (them) on both my FL-22's, it was a no brainer for lining up the info with the GPS lake chips and dialing in where I want to be. totally neccessary, maybe not, but when time is precious during pre-fishing and a tourney, totally worth it to me!
