even more fun to listen to the loons when the eagles are around. them loons aren't the biggest fans of the nations symbol!!!!!

There's a lot of goldies and baldies up around Maiden Rock by Red Wing when I fish on the river in Spring. Always bugged me when there I sat with no bites, and they'd come roaring down like a P-51 and nail a fish. Pretty cool. They've even tried to nail my bait on a long cast sometimes.

Careful Eyeguy......it's well established that adult eagles are easily annoyed by tasty young photographers who bother their babies and often fly off with them (the fresh young photographers) by the scruff of their neck and then drop them from a high altitude.

You'll sometimes see bits of hair and clothing and maybe a camera part where such an attack has occurred.

Fun to watch and dream of the perfect pic. :)  I've found 2 nests within 20 miles of town but one of them is next to impossible to see once the leaves come out. The one I found a few weeks ago is out in the open and nor far from the road. I took this pic from the car and will probably check it out once a week.
