Boar
I have exactly 10 lbs of venny sausage left over from this paat weekend escapade. I have a package of owens maple breackfast sausage mix. Buuuuuuuut its packaged in 1.5 lbs bAG. THE BAG OF SEASONONG WEIGHs 680 grams says on the lable. I have ten pounds of meat. the bags says 680 grams or 1.5 lbs of seasoniong will mix 25 lbs of meat. so who can do the conversion for me. how much of the seasoning will I need for 10 lbs of meat. also i have just purchased a digital scale at WM yuck hate that place. so I can get grams but tbs, or tbsp would be better. 3rdye. you a covenersionist. can you figure it out or anyone else? leechlake
delcecchi
No wonder them furriners are stealing our jobs. 10 pounds is 40% of 25 pounds. So you need 40% of 680 grams of seasoning or 272 grams. Use the scale, luke. leechlake and gunner55

I have two in my family and we work around them but sometimes they come in handy for stuff like this. Most of the men engineers have a lot of short sleeved dress shirts. My sister in law is an engineer and talking to her is nearly impossible and I can talk to anyone. Nice gal though and super smart. 1 minute ago, smurfy said: up here closer to the nort pole.......where we wont be getting any snow.......its SEEN!!!!!!!!! I know it is and frankly it bothers me that I don't say it the wrong way, especially when I'm at the cabin. It's hard to be perfect when you're north of around Monticello. reinhard1
Boar, why not get 15 pounds of pork butt and make the 25 pounds. Using just the 10 pounds of venison for breakfast sausage is way too lean anyway. good luck. gunner55, blue_healer_guy and Moon Lake Refuge

KEN W
That happens to me all the time when I wind up with 10 lbs of meat and 25 pounds of seasoning mix. Just take a Tbs and count the number of Tbs for the 25 ponds of seasoning. It almost always comes out to 1 TBs per pound of meat. Sometimes 1 Tbs plus 1 tsp per pound.Always tastes the way it should. smurfy and lovebigbluegills

delcecchi
Ok, then 40% it is. If you or your local dealer won't measure in grams, just put the seasoning on a cutting board and divide into 5 equal piles. Use two piles. reinhard1
Do what Del said Boar. Not all seasonings measure out the same. If you buy seasonings regularly you will see different weights for 25 pound batches depending what seasoning it is. Breakfast sausage is typicaly less weight [total package weight needed for 25 pounds] than Polish or Chili dogs for example. It's all about the type of spices used. So do what Del said about dividing up the batch in 5 equal amounts and use two of those amounts and seal the left over seasoning in a air tight container for later use. good luck.
