LindellProStaf
Happy grilling Boar. Nice looking day for us today. My wife found one of our two horses dead in the woods that is in the pasture yesterday after work. I feel so bad that she found him. She was crying when she called me at work so I hightailed it home. We got him loaded on a trailer and I will take care of him today. Pretty quiet around here. So have a great day!!!
leechlake
that's too bad LPS sorry about that. It was nice to fall asleep to a gentle rain last night and we got 1/4" or so in my coffee cup rain gauge I put out on the deck post yesterday. I figure we guess at snow amounts so eye balling rain is the same thing. With this rain and the weather I'm hoping when I get home from the lake on Sunday I will have some oat sprouts going. Nice Wild comeback last night and very surprising. I also learned a little something last night about the concept of willpower vs willingness. Could have used that tool 15 years ago. I won't go into it but check it out if you have any interest, it can apply to a lot of every day normal activities and relationships. RebelSS
Sorry to hear about your horse, LPS, that's always a heart-wrenching experience. Will you get another one for company for the other horse? Hope it all works out. Sprinkles with 54* here. Rain most of the week. Good, needs it. I've already mowed once, and it looks like it definitely will need it by Thursday. Grass is really thick, dark green, and growing like crazy. The rain the other week followed by the 6 days of heat really got things going. The fertilizing and overseeding didn't hurt, either. The neighbors yards are still all patchy and half brown yet....he he. Need to come up with something for supper tonite; I'm totally out of ideas. Might have to whip up batch of Reb o' Roni. Realized when I bought all those boneless ribs last week, I don't have one single pig chop or thick pig steak in the freezer. Time to go see my butcher buddy for some slabs. Enjoy the day, guys. More coffee for me.... LindellProStaf

Popular Post Dotch
So sorry to hear about your horse LPS. Never fun to find something like that. Even less fun to have to take care of it and deal with the aftermath so I don't envy you. Dealt with the digging beast last night and same result as the last time-no one home. Hole filled up with water after about 20 minutes and nothing emerged so shoveled the dirt back down the hole. I suspect what's going on is that I have a badger who thinks the striped gopher population needs thinning and I've been a little lax in that department with the .22 and .17 caliber this spring. Both guns need to be sighted in again as they're not as accurate as they should be. Just a dab of rain again here overnight, .04" in town and at the ranch. Yard is greening up but is uneven. Now it's time to introduce you to the concept of whining LL. It's another talent that some farmers excel at. If it rains, it's never the right amount. Someone got more or less and they always get the right amount and you got the shaft. This rain wasn't as much as some desired so now it's something to whine about and get on everyone's nerves over. The next time when it rains and the crop is underwater, then it's time to whine about that. Remember, the crop is lost a minimum of three times every year. Then as if by some miracle, something magically appears in the combine hopper and mysteriously fills the bins at the end of the season. Then the cycle repeats itself. Old farmer joke: Three hookers were visiting and talking about their various clients. The first one said "I had a Fireman last night".The second one asked how she knew he was a fireman, and the first one replied "I saw his fireman's badge".The second hooker said "Well I had a policeman". The first one asked how she knew he was a policeman. The second hooker replied "I saw his gun."The third hooker then joined in and said "Well I had a farmer last night".The other two replied "How do you know he was a farmer"?The third hooker replied "First he said it cost too much, then he said that it was too dry, then he said it was too wet, and when we were through he asked if I had any free hats!!" lovebigbluegills, leechlake, smurfy and 2 others

bobberineyes
Dang Lindell, I am so sorry . We're doing blts tonight reb, easy super peasey with some bow tie salad which I like to call it. Dotch, let's hope it's not a badger, but if it is find a run over skunk and use him for bait, that's if you can get your hands on a trap or if you have one, you'll catch him in no time with ol stinky.. I best get to frying bacon before I'm busted chatting it up with you fellas again. RebelSS, Dotch, lovebigbluegills and 1 other
lovebigbluegills
LOL, quit blogging Boober and get the house smelling like bacon!!!!!!! Sorry to hear about your horse Lindell, that's a real bummer. Dotch, if it is a badger, hopefully you're able to trap it relatively quickly. They can make a mess in a pretty short time. Popular Post reinhard1
Good morning. Was up on the north shore again yesterday. Sure pick some dandy days weather wise. Cold and windy in the morning but warmed up a bit later. Was a little frustrating yesterday when I could hook fish but loose them including a nice one that would of gone 8 pounds. Two feet from shore it came off. I was crossing one small stream and almost stepped on a nice rainbow as it was making it's way up the stream. My brother did land one though. He also had some on and loose them as well. I did get one in the tail that I landed, but released it right away. I'll be going back. Water temp in the rivers were around 38 degrees, so still a little cold. Here are some pics. good luck. Should have had him facing the sun but still a nice pic of the rainbow [looper] my brother caught. Well beaten paths from many years of anglers going after these fish. Water levels dropped about a foot from the day before. My brother and his buddy [and myself] have fished the north shore since the 60's. We all use walking sticks now to walk the path's, hills, and streams. Said on my phone that I walked a little over 3 miles yesterday and those were not easy miles. Fell only once this time. gunner55, ThunderLund78, RebelSS and 3 others

Dotch
Beautiful photos RH. Makes me wish I could go there sometime. Been as close as booming metropolises such as Bruno and Kerrick but have never seen the big lake or the tributaries like those. It's gotta be them smurfs Reb! Someone put duct tape over the game cam lens but at least they were too lazy to dig any more holes overnight. Must be union smurfs. Cooler gray day here, again. We must've reached our quota of sunshine for the month. Supposed to rain some and that won't hurt anything. Might slow some people down a little although many finished corn planting and there's one guy done with beans already. Oh well, the sooner it's planted the more time it allows for replanting. Watching the rhubarb in anticipation. Another week and it should be prime time. Could pick some now but it doesn't have the nice long stems on it yet. Will have to break down and order a half gallon of Schwan's vanilla ice cream Friday. It's keeping me waiting... lovebigbluegills, RebelSS and smurfy

leechlake
26 years. You're in luck, the traditional gift is nothing. Seriously. By nothing I think they mean anything but I'd go with nothing and since for Christmas you went fishing with Boar nothing could be better Good work Smurfola. Steal a few ketchup packs for the larder.
