Good Morning!

Another thing LL,  your gonna havta loose the spitunes around the farm house, a seasoned farmer always spits in the front pocket of his Oshkosh's,  especially in church. Speaking  of farming , lots of machinery in the fields out west, kind of neat sitting in the passenger seat while the whipper snapper drove, I got a chance to see what texting in a vehicle is all about and not to mention look up every fence line, tree line and fields for roosters , I saw a bunch should be a fine fall. My chores are in full swing, peppers, lettuce, onion, sugar peas and grass seed are really keeping this city slicker busy.  Ya know lbbg that's the first pic I thought of when LL started this his new way of life...lol

Boss texte me said we might go at 1 on a farmers feild, i said Im half way out the door for the day, No problem he said have a good day, see ya tomorrow. Plans fell thru now I feel guilty. so i guesse i could text back. but if he need ed me he'd call. Made a ham for sandwich meat and some Meatloaf cupcakes for supper. doing some clothes, and little things around the house, raked the garden, dont know if I want to let the weeds come up and kill them off for the year or not and plant this year. never seem to have enough time for a garden but the wife always wants to put something in so it can go to waste unutilized. trying to take a nap but feel i should be working. wierd.

Double L, bear love oats when their in the milky stage, cant keep them out of oats.  so you have your food plot hunt over. good luck.

Wow what a perfect day for the golf outing, 80degrees no clouds light breeze and absolutely no humidity. Plenty of ice cold dos Equis XX downed, getting a litter older so I can't do a beer per hole anymore now it's more like one for every three to four holes. Changed my swing over the winter at the range (we have one open year round with heaters overhead and behind you ) I lost about 25 to 30 yards but nice and straight. It was only the second time out this year so I will probably be nice and sore in the morning :(

where do I get those signs you see near some fields by highways that promote the seed?  You know like Dekalb or whatever brand it is.  I may put some out by my oat field.  Probably another income stream for me.  In the Fall around Halloween I may cut a maze through the oats and promote that too.  The oat field is under my overgrown apples so people can pay me to pick those too.  I can put the dogs in a fenced area and charge to enter "Lab Land" too.  I can give lectures in a tent on agri-business and the benefits of walleye as fertilizer.  It's fun when a plan comes together.

I've got a lot to learn.  First thing they said is I gotta learn how to lean on the back of the pick up in a group and not talk much, just say "yep" a lot.  I get antsy and want to do something but you gotta just stand your ground and keep leaning on the back of the truck.  Also, I've changed my name to Delbert 'cause Kris isn't a farmer name.  I tried to take some other names but they were taken; Earl, Wilmar, Travis, John, Quintin, Harold, Henry, Oscar, Brad...all taken.

Delbert is a great name.  Only genius studs are named Delbert....  I give you permission....

I figured your name could have been Delbert but people call ya Burt for short.  I also thought it may be italian.  I guess you just had a bad spelling day when you signed up and only got the first three letters correct.  You got me thinking...I've got a lot of nicknames; Tiger, Axel, Dodgy, Marty, Elfin', Scruffy, Magoo, Captain Bligh, Gary, Ghost, WG, Ramrod,

Good morning.  Raining here and supposed to be cloudy all day.  Up to 50 ish though.  Back to work after a 4 day break.  Even though I like my job it would be fun to stay home with the dogs and go for another boat ride, maybe catch a Sturgy.  Oh well got to change the train of thought and hit the road.  We all get along well at work so will be another fun day.

I should of wrapped my country style rigs a little sooner yesterday.  Got great smoke and flavor but a little dry.  They were boneless ones.  I like the ones with the bone in better.  Seem a little juicier to me.  They will be good reheated tonight.  I will sauce them up a little.  Man that smoke tube works great!  So glad I got it.

Looks like a tornado went through here.  I knocked down a medium maple tree here that was too close to another one so they were growing crooked.  Also knocked down a willow that was an ugly tree too.  Since it starting raining yesterday we didn't get all of it cleaned up.  Oh well a project for the future.

On that note have a good day today.  Always a pleasure.

ribs not rigs.  I sort of get rigs on the brain since I made a bunch of them this weekend too......

I had some failed Country Style Ribs a few weeks ago.  Smoked and then put in oven in moisture.  They were pretty bad but I'm not a fan of them much anyway.   Ramrod is a reference to being bossy and I got the name from a friend of mine who thinks he's always in charge, go figure.

The bank called and wants a bunch of paperwork done.  I told them I paid cash for the seed for the oat field but they claim they need the paperwork for the file.  What file?  The also want to be named insured on the crop insurance paperwork.  I don't even have crop insurance.  The other thing they want is some title work done showing the legal description of the property.  My second day of farming is becoming less productive by the minute.

Goo Mornin! Looks like boar's spelling is getting contagious. I was thinking LPS was cooking with fishing tackle too TL and wanted to be on top of his recent discovery. I mean combining fishing tackle and cooking is only natural. Probably want to go barbless however. Ah Stevie Ray, taken from us too soon Reb. One of the last of the old guard true blue guitarists. Yes Delbert, there'll be days like this, my mama said. Welcome to the big leagues!

Got a lot of nit picky stuff done yesterday. Got a whole Gator full of sticks out of the backyard after thinking earlier this spring it looked pretty good. Most of it was junk about 6" - 12" long and 1/2" or less in diameter.  Ash and soft maple are just stick generators. By the hackberries planted 10+ years ago get big enough to replace them I'll be in a home or worse. I got the bluebird houses cleaned up and repaired and thought I'd better make a trek to the wetland to see if the wood duck houses needed any attention. Luckily I'd totally cleaned and put new shavings in last spring because they were already occupied. One house had 6 new eggs in it and the other had 7. Earlier there had been some deer mice living in them but the woodies must've evicted them. Took care of the tree wrap on some of the bigger trees but left the whip sized ones. Past run ins with the bunnies on the smaller trees when removing the tree wrap this early have been counterproductive. We had a return engagement overnight by whatever it was that dug a big hole a couple weeks ago in the yard, this time in a different spot. No time to deal with it this morning but tonight, it's game on.

Dotch's wood duck houses remind me of being a kid and cleaning the houses out at the cabin.  My dad was holding the ladder and I was about to open the top door up to clean them out and out flew 2 flying squirrels.  Completely grossed me out and has til this day.  I'm anti flying squirrel
