Ok Thanks LL.  I will try that.  So do the edit thing here on HSO  Will do.  Thanks

Kill Bill. Uma has big, ugly paws. Noticed that in most of her movies. Shoulda been a boxer.

Good Morning.  Smurfy, that's a road trip I sure would like to take anything.  Up to my favorite city {Duluth} and then west to the great town of Grand Rapids.  Spent a lot of time out of Grand Rapids and drove up that beautiful 38 up to Marcell and camped on North Star Lake and Clubhouse Lake when we were kids and later took my kids there.  good luck.

Back to the orifice after a long weekend of lambing and agri-tourism. Think the score is  25 - 4 now after last night. Had a lamb born while a customer and his 4 year old daughter were looking at the lambs. It opened her eyes pretty wide and elicited lots of 4 year-old questions. :)

That's gorgeous country up that way way reinhard,  smurfy and gunner, usually get up to North star lake once a year to visit. Dotch, with all the chore talk and lambing you have going on is really fascinating,  basically every little guy dropped is adding to the petting zoo if you will. Since most of us city slickers haven't tried lamb burgers ( which looked marvelous by the way ) we should meet up at bug tussle get our hands dirty with chores, LL could put on a catchers mitt for the new borns..not only a gathering but an adventure.

Ok I'm done thinking out loud, 2 months ago I was eligible for an upgrade on my phone, so I went from an s4 to an s6, got a case but not a screen protector.  I've accidentally dropped it a few times but lucked out, yesterday the wife headed up to Verizon and asked if I wanted to go with, I said taking the pooch to the park , so off she went and then I went. In the parking lot of the park my phone jumps otta my hoody pocket, right now I'm looking through spider we bing and scotch tape....ugh. ..ended up at Verizon after all.:(

No insurance here, had a quote of 210 for a screen.  Work/ personal phone, can replace the phone with the same new for 100, or get a 7 for around 200..needless to say this device won't see a new screen.

100 bucks for a new phone?  With a contract extension?  Or straight up?

Geez bobber, we could be the Bobsey twins. Switched to an S6 last fall from an S4. I still swear at it but not as much as I did the S4. Took a while to get used to the touch screen. Banged up fingers and hands didn't help. Camera was an improvement on the S6 for me anyway. The cute young thing with her discreet little tattoos made it an easy sale. Besides, she smelled really good! :D

Seeing Reb's flip phone though makes me long for the days when I didn't have to constantly worry about smashing the screen on one of these smartphones. Wouldn't last 10 minutes working with the critters. Saw a Tweet this a.m. by a friend whose phone got smashed by his sheep. Their heads are hard! On the positive side, seems I leave the thing behind more than I did the flip phone. If they need something bad enough, they can leave a message, text, or call me back. Funny how things run full circle sometimes. Maybe bag phones will make a comeback!

Congrats boar! How are you going to find time to do this between fishing and smoking? ;)

    • Sorry to hear that Duff. Will give my GSP's an extra scratch behind the ear for you guys today
    • Aw, man, sorry to hear that.  Shed some tears and remember her well.  They all take a piece of our hearts with them; some more than others.
    • yes sorry for your loss..  our dogs are always special...
    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
