Good Morning!

I have 4 discs in my neck that are junk. The Doctor wants to put in artificial discs so I will still retain some movement in my neck. Good Ol insurance company wants to have the discs fused together ( way cheaper surgery, longer recovery) so the doctor filed an appeal. Been working on this for about a year and a half. Doctor said they drag their feet so you will just give in and do cheaper surgery. Finally got word today that they will make a decision next Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed. Not a fan of insurance companies

Is this some sort of competition as to who is more broken down? Does thw winner get sausage and cheese? And Backstrap jerky?

Ok, I am in.  Concussion, two broken arms (surgical hummerous) both arms, 4 grafts bypass in heart. Front teeth knocked in 5th grade many decades ago.

Good morning!!  Getting ready for the grandkids for this weekend.  Trying to get re-trained on our video camera we bought a few years ago.  We paid 800 bucks for it at the time and it was supposed to be top of the line then.  I know technology is better now but this one is like brand new and I want to start making video's and then learn how to put them on the puter.  Next week I will send out three different sausage types to the football winners.  I'm making a couple more but I want to send them while the temps are cold.

So far so good on the health front compared to you guy's that have posted.  I had a lid on a large grinder once close on my hand while I was pushing it out of the way for cleaning.  Cut me across the knuckles and the bones stuck out.  I just wrapped it up and continued to  work.  Somehow it healed up.  Still have the scars.  Broke my finger once [the bird one] while I was cranking up the boat years ago full of a few beers.  My dad asked me a question and I let go of the crank and it came around and wacked me on the hand.  That hand swoll up like a baseball mit.  Had a few bloody Mary's that day.  Never went to the doctor and continued to fish for the week.  No way did I want to miss my vacation up north.  Lucky it was my left hand so I could still reel in.  I did tape the two fingers together after I straightened the middle one up.  Came close a bunch of times to the saw blade at work.  Cut myself more processing deer than I did at work.  So far the only time I had had a doctor cut something off my body was an eraser size [like from a pencil] thing off my back.  Was some kind of skin cancer but not a bad kind from what he told me.  Stuck a needle to numb the area, cut it out, and sewed me back up right in the doctors area.   You know it seems when you get older you talk more about health issues it seems.  good luck.

Ok I'm in.  One lower back surfery, broke jaw in two places, hernia surgery, 4 shoulder surgerys.  All if fixed and doing well.  I made a wood splitter 2 years ago out of my old snowblower.  I finally realized that some types of excercise isn't good for us anymore.  I still carry the wood in and of course stack it so still getting some good movement. No more jumping out of trucks etc.  Take my time and climb down.  The joints don't like hard jarring types of things anymore.  TGIF.  We are going out to eat tonight for Valentines thanks for the idea whichever of you brought that up.  That way we can just stay home on Sunday afternoon and maybe cook something.  We are going shopping at the Falls on Sat. so might pick up some pork for sausage.  One more cold night then the warm up.  We are supposed to see -25 tonight.  Going to be lost without football in our lives.  Have to retrain on Sundays...  See ya all later.  Have a nice weekend.

Surgery not surfery.  That almost sounds like one of your buddies here.  The wife (and I love her) is talking to me as I am talking to you.  I am trying to make eye contact with her as I proof read.  Obviously she is right again.  Men don't multi-task well...   :D  I will go with that.

The flag got a rest yesterday but is back at it today.  It's not at the speed it had been but I'd guess easily 10 mph and probably closer to 15 at times.  I exaggerate about wind like the weatherman does about snow so I could be off a bit.

I skipped going to a varsity hockey game last night and watched it streaming on line.  I was impressed with the camera quality and the announcers for the game.  Frankly, the announcers for Channel 12 tv were better than some of those lower end guys we get for Vikings games some weeks and they talked less than some of the upper end guys we get some weeks.  It probably helps that they don't know all the ins and outs of what every player has ever done in his life to pass on to everyone.  "Well...little Billy Hanson really seems to be a coachable kid after years of not washing his hands before dinner and all the turmoil that caused at home" wouldn't be that interesting anyway.

Here's my malady inventory; two teeth knocked out, tonsils removed, two basal cell carcinomas removed (RH that's probably what you had, it's no biggie) and I had that reduction surgery that I don't like to brag about too much.  My mental malady issues would be a longer list.

I hope you guys all the best for those of you with more pressing health concerns and I know the other fellas do too.  Many days I pray for you and I will today.

*SNAP*CRACKLE*POP* No, not the cereal, me. I'm up. Finally. Late nite, late morning. Piddled around in the garage last nite with Mr Sparkles, buffing and shining and polishing. Made it to the wash-o-matic in the late afternoon. While garage was warming up, ate that big piggery chop for supper. Interesting thing at the car wash "almost happened"....it's all  indoor separate bays, with access to each one. A , shall we say, foreign type poor english speaking person came up right behind, and suddenly demands change for a $5 bill he was holding. I also notice another guy with him on my OTHER side...Both about six feet away...combat distance. Uh oh. Having a lot of  assaults/robberies in this town in daylight by this "diverse group" (Only stating the facts) I backed away and placed my truck between myself and them, dropping the "bubble brush" on the ground behind me. He wanted me to come over and show him how to work  the knobs on the selector gizmo, and also give him change, I just kept telling him the change maker is outside, "Go outside". He/they finally did, and came back in with change, washed his vehicle and left. You never know when and where what could happen. I had my hand on my .40 cal Xdm the entire time...drawn halfway out.  He never even noticed it with my baggy coat.  So much for that. I see the wedder morjits are whipping folks into another news-making frenzy, with the "Polar Vortex" to gine the NE some of the "coldest weather ever"....-8 to -10 near Boston. *YAWN* Supposed to be -15* here tonite, so they're yakkin'. Big whoop. Sure glad I got Mr Sparkles bathed and all nice and dry. Well, off to try some new pig sausage for bfast I got during the grocery run at that store I don't dare mention because Smurfy blows out his Union-made pantaloons. Still looks like an egg in ther somewhere, too, but I'm gonna toss in a waffle too. Have a good day, guys.

your learnin........

So the spearing thing is a business expense then.  Well played....

I think at a minimum we should have to wear athletic supporters in the LL/RH Old guys nudist camp football game.  Don't ya think?  I don't want to see everyone's junk.

:D:P maybe!!!!!!! the cabin is 40 miles away. during winter months I stay in rapids at a hotel if I cant manipulate a fishing adventure if I have to spend a nite.

during the summer months I stay at the cabin. saves cash on meals and hotel room, aand a can do things at the cabin!!!!!!!

Why is it all I can see in my mind is Dotch bending over and that sheep buck behind him pawing the ground with his head down?:D

That's one of the problems with rams: Seldom do you get any warning. They're cheap shot artists. They live to flatten you while your back is turned when you're hauling a bale or a couple 5 gallon buckets of grain or water. Even the most docile looking teddy bear can become a headhunter in an instant. Rams that have been shown are the worst in that department. Every time before I've been hit, I think to myself, "Wonder where that..." then bam!!!! This is one reason we eat lamb and feel good about it. :D

I really don't go to the doctor much. If I can't get the bleeding stopped, can't walk or get out of bed then maybe. Or if Mrs. Cheviot gets on my case enough like she did about shingles. Have to admit, cut several weeks off the duration by listening to her. Seems like the best things I can do for all this stuff include trying to stay active, eat right, sleep a lot, stay hydrated and best of all try to get as much nooky as possible. I'd like to enjoy my later years as much as I can. First I gotta get there though.

Getting a little taste of that now and like it. Can't wait for the snow to leave so I can get the Silver Hawk out. Got my Back to the 50's registration sent in yesterday. Went to the Gopher women's BB game last night and watched them dismantle Nebraska. The folks I went with are older and retired but it was a blast. They still know how to have fun and set a great example of how to do it. Will hunker down for the weekend after getting more in place for shearing Tuesday and lambing season right on its heels. Got a trip to Fareway in Owatonna planned too as I haven't been there yet. Grilling Sunday methinks. Yaaaay!!!! :)

And to think they have a popular truck named after one of these mean sheep......!

If you watch them fight sometime, you know how tough and crude they are. Sorta like a Dodge truck! :D

Wow Reb!  Thanks for bringing some excitement to the morning thread. A near shootout at the car wash is exciting. I envision Walt Kowalski from Gran Torino.

I may go pick up some "cheap shot artist" lamb for tonight.

I have been compared to Walt a few times......I have no idea why.    Only difference is these guys come from an arid, sea bordered country. They also like playing pirate.
