leechlake
Good Morning. I'm glad I started yesterday with the line smile if you feel like frowning. I used it a few times but haven't perfected it. Once I was driving and I did smile but it felt like more of that smile Norman Bates had at the end of the movie Psycho. I'd throw it out of my repertoire but I believe smiling is good, it's a work in progress. Yesterday I also had to take some grief for my story. "if you can dish it out take it." Easy words to live by when you aren't in the process of taking it more than giving it but I get it. I get to drive from the west end of "The Cities" to the east end today. It will take me as long as driving from Walker to Bemidji but with different scenery and a few more cars. I love Highway 2 coming into Bemidji from the east. I think the powers that be that got the funding for that were genius. 3 cars per mile on a 4 lane highway with stamped concrete ornamental bridges and beautiful landscaping. It makes me smile driving on it every time... reinhard1 and Dotch
RebelSS
I'm up...I think. Brrrr. 5* here and a coating of frost everywhere. Only one eye open so couldn't read all of LL's narrative. Something about driving somewhere. Too early to read. Drive down to St Paul and hit Grand Ave for lunch. The Tavern on Grand. Have one of those great Walleye sandwiches. Or Dixies. Have some BBQ. Or have a burrito at what's his name's place. Too early for me. I need my gallon of cawfee. Not chatty in the morning.LL's startin' to remind me of a girlfriend I had like like that once, wanted to talk first thing in the morning. Miss Always Perky. First thing in the morning, " Wellgoodmorningbrighteyea!yousuresleptgood!Snoredallnite!Areyoureadyforcoffeehoney?Whatshouldwedotoday?YouknowhatIthinkweshoulddo?Goforarideuptothelakeand....." Happy whatever ya do today guys. Keep warm. Edited February 5, 2016 by RebelSS Dotch

Popular Post Dotch
OK, broomed the office pest by using the time honored "look busy and ignore him till he leaves to bother someone else" technique. Got a meeting coming up at 10 with some soil and water people about the flooding issue here in Bugtussle. Think I'll suggest they take a look at what Rochester did and use it as a template. Lots of hoar frost in the trees this a.m. so it was purty at choretime. Looked like the cover of some of them Ideals magazines my Mom used to have. Should dig the grill out again for the weekend. Maybe stop at Morgan's meat market and grab a few brats before I hit the dusty trail tonight. Those sauerkraut and wild rice brats really make my intestinal fauna sing! Sitting on a lot of beer presently. One 12 pack has 12 rather scantily clad mermaids on the box. Looks like something out of one of LL's dreams. It was a gift and when asked by the guy's wife which mermaid I liked best, I had to be honest. Since I couldn't see their legs, I said the one with the best udder attachment. gunner55, RebelSS, bobberineyes and 3 others

RebelSS
Cawfee and bfast done...I'm finally able to function. Have to head to Walfart, to pick up some basic groceries. Also want to see if they have the Dell computer I've decided I'm going to order from Dell. Just want to try the touch screen out. I still get a corporate discount from Dell, and talked with them on the phone the other day. Can get what I want delivered to my door for $100 cheaper than any sale I've ever seen on that model. Not really any place in this town to buy one, except Best Buy. I don't know why they even call it that, it sure as heck isn't. They had FOUR Dell computers out...all around the $800-1,000 mark. When I asked the guy why they only have four high-end models, he replied "I dunno...that's all we get". Looked right at him, and said "You're quite a big help, aren't ya scooter?" I walked out. I see why so many people don't like that store, even though I've had good luck with them. A town of 130,000 people sure needs more than one small electronics store. I stopped in a Staples, and they had a TOTAL of SIX computers on display...where the heck are all the computers? The sales girl also talked at about 3,000 WPM, couldn't understand a thing she said. Had to ask her to slow down, still couldn't understand her. Maybe her parents are auctioneers. Do all kids talk as fast as they text? Maybe that's why I like Walfart...they talk a lot slower there. Usually between words you have time to run back to the aisle and grab what ya forgot before the next word comes out of their mouth. Reminds me of the joke A guy sits down at a bar, has a drink, and turns to the guy next to him and says: "Have you heard the one about Walmart?"A guy three stools down says 'Hey! Watch it buddy, I work at Walmart".... The guy looks at him, says, Oh, OK; I'll tell it real S-L-O-W then... Dotch and bobberineyes

leechlake
One day Reb doesn't like I mentioned politics, this morning I'm too chipper. This is getting to be like "Goldie Locks and the Three Boars" I'm hoping next one I get just right. There is a Best Buy near Ridgedale. Complete zoo at Christmas. I had found my little diamond in the rough years ago. Circuit City. It was across the highway and you could walk in and walk out even at Christmas with hardly any hold up. The chink in the armor on that was they went out of business for the reason it was so convenient, no one shopped there. In the past, if you got a "deal" on many computers it was because it didn't have the right software or something or it expired after 90 days. Nothing worse than unpacking the computer and ending up on the phone for 2 hours making it work. Last few I've had were nearly plug and play, could have been luck or some wisdom I had accumulated from failed previous experiences. Finally BB has a "team member" that could make me want to shop their more often if I wasn't an old married guy. That's all I will say. RebelSS
Your Mom dresses ya in funny hats, too. I really, seriously, want to test drive one of the touch screens, and play with the Windows 10, but there's no way to do it here! To me, that would be like ordering a car off the internet without being able to test drive it, see, etc. I can't be the only one who feels this way, but what are you to do? Even went to an Office Max here, same thing, and none are powered up. Buying a new 'puter is a big expenditure for me, and I just want to make sure I get what I want. I'll have to figure out something. Don't have a clue what yet, but.......

RebelSS
Only other grocery store here is Fareway..which I love. Get most of my meat there. Hy-Vee is way too spendy, Cub is a long ways from me, and that leaves Target...I'm not touching on that place again. I miss Rainbow Foods and Econo, they both closed up and moved outta here. There's a Sam's club here, went there with a frined a couple times, but it's way more huge pkgs of stuff that would get stale before i could eat it. I think I'm gonna go there in a bit...I just remembered that's where she gets her computers, and has a Sam's Card.....
