bigsam
Hey all,I was wondering about some of your opinions on this.I use 10lb. Fireline with a line counter reel. This particular reel has the "clicker" feature on it. Should I run with the freespool on, clicker on? Or just keep it closed and not worry about the clicker? What do you do?Thanks
DonBo
I like to use the clicker just to hear when you have a hit, then close it to fight the fish. This saves many lures in the case of snags.
wally diver 2
I usually don't use the clickers on mine but I also keep it in my hands. When I happen to put them in rod holders I run the clicker.
LoonASea
I keep my clickers on and back off the drag as a strike indicator ,,,I fish for salmon in Lake Superior so snagging isn't an issue ,,training people to slowly tighten the drag can at times be an issue tho ,,,I always engage the free spool lever and test the tension on the drag after a line is reeled in and put back out ,,,when reeling in I do turn the clicker off

dan z
I also run clickers while there in holders. I really have it dialed in on my reels I'll set the drag so the line barely goes out while in free spool and then turn the clicker on. I also run some fluorocarbon for a bit of stretch. JohnMickish
I keep my clickers on and back off the drag as a strike indicator +1. That and watch your rods.

Northlander
I also do the clicker light drag trick.
dfv87
I also use the clicker and back off the drag if I am using the rod holders (when I am driving)... when I am not driving I like to hold the rod and feel the strike. then I do not use the clicker and do not have the drag quite as loose. Borch
I also use the clicker and a lighter drag. In addition I like to use light colored rods or paint the last 4-6" of the rod tip with glow paint. Helps me see if the lure is running properly. mrklean
I'm a clicker fan also then I turn it off as I reel in
Walleye Jon
I leave my clicker on and set the drag as light as possible. That way, when I get a hit, you hear the clicker spin off. This works great whwn you are running multiple rods. Good luck and fish hard.
