No Contract Phone Plans?

I just have a question on the no contract plans like Straight Talk that Wal Mart has. For example: If the price says $45 a month does that mean $45 a month or is it $45 a month plus taxes and fees?

I use Selectel and only thing extra is Mn sales tax.

I guess you have to read the fine print. I have T-mobile "no contract" and here are the extra charges

I think that there's just tax added to it. One thing to think about is a years worth is something like one month free.

Thank You. Now I read that Straight Talk will not work on the Verizon network anymore in the next few months. To me that would be a dealbreaker since Verizon tends to have the best network in rural areas.
