10.5 yr old buck!

Results are in, the buck I harvested last fall was aged in the lab is 10.5 years old!

I am truly amazed. I knew he was at least 8, but 10 years old truly is amazing!

How was the meat?

Meat was delicious. FLICKER meats in white bear turned much of it into sausage and burger for me! Mmm tasty!

That is pretty cool, pretty rare for bucks to see double digits.

Just a vague idea where you hunt? Southeast,big wood up north?

That is a old deer anywhere.

If you shot a buck that was 3-4Xs older than most Minnesota bucks harvested you would! Star sticker goes to matchset now let's see that dinosaur.

Where did you send the teeth/jawbone to get aged?? What did it cost? I've had a few in the past that I would have liked to get aged but didn't know where to send them. Plus there is always the debate amoung hunters, how old is that nice buck?? Some will say its a 'mature 5 1/2 year old' while you're looking at it thinking '2 1/2 or 3 1/2 max'. Would be nice to be able to settle that debate.

I got an 11.5 year old in 2008.

I used a company called deerage. Google search that will get you time and cost. I think it was $35-$45 the times I did it.
