Slush Copter, Best Tool Ever!

Over the last 40 years I've been ice fishing I've been screwed over by dumb products to clean holes in a permanent fish house too many times to count. I've had small ice scoops, big scoops, deep scoops, shallow scoops, scoops that collapse, hockey stick scoops and even a stupid Ice Plunger thing that looks like a big toilet plunger. That thing broke taking it out of a cold truck and my $40 never even flushed a single hole! I just bought a Slush Copter. From a previous post you know I had some problems contacting them but they were on vacation in Las Vegas for a week. When they returned they called me and got one on UPS that day. I got it in 2 days. If you have a permanent house, you absolutely need one of these things. In a 8X16 plus a V house having a cordless drill is nice anyway so it's no big deal for the copter. This thing flushes the holes like a toilet flush, I didn't even have to skim them. Each hole takes a full 5 gal pail of slush to get rid of so this thing is a tremendous time saver and back saver. I have no affiliation with these guys and paid for it so this is not an advertisement. I'm just so happy I found something that works I wanted to share it. When the rental house guys said they use them and like them it was a no brainer. Get One!

AFter reading your post, I went online and watched a video of it in operation, look's fast and clean.

How long is the handle for deeper ice like 30 plus inches?

If it is good for deeper ice, I will be owning one very soon. Look's to save a guy alot of work and back bending.

Harvey I have one also, I think it would work up to about 36 inches. They do work really good. I drilled 8 holes in my wheelhouse last weekend , 31 inches of ice and ended up skimming less than a 1/4 of a 5 gal. bucket when I was done. My father in law has a perm on the lake and they were taking 3 pails per hole out. Needless to say he ordered one also.

I also own one and like it. On my last trip to LOW my buddie did the holes for the first time and seemed like he did not push down far ebough and left lots of slush right under the ice so when we caught fish some slush would come up. I would say there is a art to it so you do not get lots of water coming back up the hole or having less slush left at the end. Once you get it done it works great! It makes sense I already have a drill in the house from drilling my holes with it on my 8" nils bit.

I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot with the slush copter a couple years ago. I was also skeptical of this product. After I had all the images I needed I started clearing holes. My son Carter and I where impressed at how well and how fast it worked. We had so much fun clearing holes we where purposely refilling them with snow and shavings or drilling new holes just to watch it work!

I love mine. Used it all last winter on LOTW in my permanent house. We had over 3' of ice last year., over 40" if I remember right and it work great. Just had to spin it a little longer with the thicker ice. The first weekend I had it some friends were up fishing and one of them thought it was just wrong to kick the shaving back into the hole. Certainly a time saver.

I looked for the best option for slush this year and settled on the slush copter. I love it! Customer service is great and after drilling 8 holes in 30" of ice i pulled out a couple scoops of slush. I would recommend to anyone in a wheel house! Last year 8 holes was 12 buckets of slush. This year less than 1 bucket.

Does anyone know if they make a 9" version? I know the HSOforum only lists 8" & 10".

It is a one size fits all.

I just popped some holes this morning for tip-ups in 30+ inches of ice. I used the Slush Copter to clean the holes and it was amazing. Three holes and I dipped less than 1 cup of ice chips total. I won't leave home without it.

Sounds like a great idea, and was going to buy one until I had an idea to use what I already have, an Ice Gator electric powerhead with forward and reverse.

When I'm done drilling my next fishing hole, I'm going to throw it into reverse and push the slush back down.

Will let you know how it works!! confused

Wow is all I can say. Used it in 4 holes in approx 37 inches of ice. Blew the chips out of the hole in no time and no chips in another hole. Did not have to skim any ice out at all. This tool is better than I could have hoped for. If you don't have one, I would get one, they r that good.

When I am outside fishing in my portable I would not have to own one. In my wheelhouse, if I cut. 6 holes with 3ft of ice, it takes a lot of pails of slush to clean those holes out and that can take me up to 15 minutes plus. With the slush copter, I can clean all 6 out in a few minutes and my floor ends up a lot dryer. I would say once u use one you would agree. No, one does not have to use but but they are so much faster. My guess is, if I cut 10 holes, with this tool I could clean out those 10 before u could clean 3 out in 3 ft of ice. Running the drill like u say could leave a huge mess also on the floor of the house. Have u seen one in operation Outkast other than a video, that could change your thoughts or understanding of this unit.

Any guy with a perm house, who thinks he doesn't need one of these, clearly is misinformed. Anyone who sees this tool in action will immediately understand the effectiveness and time saving capabilities. I cleared 4 holes faster than my partner could fill one bucket of slush from the 5th...and he still had two buckets of slush left with 35" of ice. And all of this while keeping the floor dry from not having to flush out the holes with the auger. 2c
