38bill
I'm just getting back into ice fishing and now that the new wheel house is finished I need to re-spool a bunch of rods for crappy and eyes. I tried searching here but couldn't find any info. Anybody have a favorite line? Thanks.
Kettle
I like the fireline ice fishing line, just make sure you mono back it. it is great line with 0 stretch and little memorykettle

Scott O.
For me, if you're using two different outfits (one for eyes, one for crappies), I love using Northland 3# Fluorosilk for crappie and other pannies and I use 6# Fireline Ice line for eyes with a Fluorosilk leader. If you're going to use one combo for both fish, I'd recommend going the Fireline ice line route, either 4# or 6#, whichever you feel more comfortable with. WalleyeChaser
For pannies I use 3 or 4 lb Cajun ice. Its nice and limp when its cold, has very little memory, minimal icing, and great knot strength. For walleye I use power pro ice in a 4lb diameter (I think its 12 or 15lb) with a 10lb floro leader. The power pro ices up a little bit when not in the shack in temps under 20°, but its tolerable. Great sensitivity though for fishing deeper. Those are what I have stuck with after trying some others. Northlander
For mono I really like the suffix ice lines and for braid the Suffix Ice braid. I used to be a big power pro guy but since suffix came out with the 832 and ice braid that's all I use.
Rick G
Trilene ice fluorocarbon, or good old xl is on just about all my ice set ups.
20lbSloughShark
I finally found some powerpro ice tec, and so far I love it. It does not hold water too bad, and I didn't feel it limited me at all outside. I am now officially 100% braid mainline. Not a single rod of mine has mono. Finlander
4lb. Trilene XL. Best line ever! 28.5" walleye and 30.5" walleye on this line!
Luke_M
3lb power pro on panfish rods, 5lb on walleye rods and 8lb on pike/cat rods. Top those off with a fluoro leaders of the appropriate size.
Chris Barlage
Gamma all the way. Its a co poly. Very thin diameter. Low memory. It the only line I have been using year round for 5 years now.
Eric_Kruger
I use two kinds. 2 and 6 lb vanish, and 2 and 4 lb suffix ice magic in the orange color. the 2lb goes on my panfish rods, and the 6 on my walleye. Im trying out the 4 on a few walleye rods this year just for fun. but these have been my staple lines since the ice magic came out. havent lost a fish on 2 lb from a break off in years! Fisherman For a Lifetime
Some Sufix Ice Braid, but ices up in a reel below freezing. Some Trilene "Cold Weather". Low memory & controlled stretch. I use this for all snells.
Capt. Russ
The relatively new Berkley Nano Fil with a Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon leader has been working well for me. It has a small diameter and is extremely sensitive.
