silverbulletguy
Looks like the vehicle is most likely the only casualty. At least I hope so. Here's your sign.

JBMasterAngler
Every lake I passed today had trucks and wheel houses all over! When I finally got to butternut lake (WI) and drilled holes, ice was 10 inches!
mww24
Gotta love the monkey see monkey do mentality right jbmasterangler? First vehicle out was probably a honda civic. Next one was a single cab s10. Next thing you know you have 1 ton duallys going 40 across the lake with their 20 foot wheel houses hooked up. I just hope no one pays ultimate price for some fish. cavalierowner
I've been seeing people go through the ice every winter since I started ice fishing back in the mid-sixties. Even as a know-it-all teen, I did know enough to stay far away from channels, including when walking. I don't get how, with all the information that's out there now, people don't know to stay away from channels. My biggest fear is that someday, after seeing too many of these incidents, the government will step in and start putting bans on any driving on the ice in an effort to protect us from ourselves. The actions of a few can ultimately affect the rights of many; it's happened too many times throughout history.

Savage Brewer
At least it looks like anyone in the vehicle made it out safely.I would also assume that the signs were probably put out after the fact.Just too much inconsistency in the ice I think, I know people want to get their wheel houses out as early as possible, which can be understandable if you have a specific spot you want to be at before everyone else. But dang, some of those houses weigh 4000 pounds or more and add in another 6000 pounds for the vehicle and equipment. You wouldn't find me trying to put 10,000 pounds on the ice, not right now. Savage Brewer
And my above post isnt assuming his guy was to put out a perm house. Just saying that I think it might be a little bit early for perms yet.
Wanderer
At least its a chevy Yeah, it'll still be worth something after they get it out.
BrianLucky13
I've done that. Hooked a couple chains to two trucks on the back end and ripped it out. Water came in and jumped out the back window. Drank a few beers and fired the truck up and drove home. I was following two trucks that were way heavier then mine. Just goes to show you can never trust ice...

Chad Holst
GMC=Chevy. Unless things have changed in the last few yers they are the exact same vehicle. I mean EXACT. sur eyou get a different service department and the color options are different on the two...but the same person makes them both on the same production line in the same factory with the same equipment and materials.I worked at a car dealership many moons ago and we used to get vehicles in from GMC that had all GMC tags, except one chevy logo would be on it by accident. we got a Safari van in with a chevy streering wheel once, another time the grill on a GMC had the chevy grill and bowtie on it. I laugh when i hear people say how their GMC is better than the chevy and visa-versa. Figure this out...for many years GMC had the top retail sales %, second was dodge, then 3rd was chevy... lol. GMC's service program was rated higher, and thats the ONLY thing that could make one better than the other.
