I agree! I think Blum could possibly turn into something too if given a little more opportunity. I havent seen him play much and the few times he did play he had some flashes of both quality and rustiness. I am hoping with more time he can solidify himself.

It is definitely good to have a rotation of guys you can plug in and out depending on injuries and the opponent.

Next year is looking brighter already. Excited to see what they do this post season AFTER we make the playoffs and create some havoc of course.

I know, they have been playing really tough. 4 pts up on both Phoenix and Dallas with Dallas having one game in hand.

It will be down to the wire. Wild have a very tough schedule from here on out. Hopeful that some of the teams they play will be resting some guys.

Here's to LA beating the 'Yotes tonight!!!

Ugg sounds like Granlund might have gotten another concussion, please be ok!!! Many just when Koivu gets going now we might have lost Granlund, it just never ends.

Marion Pierre Granlund....another good player bitten by the "here we go again" bug. Tough to replace, but who knows, maybe with someone more physical in there we might be just fine.....or better. This is getting very interesting as we near the finish line.

[PoorWordUsage]?? whats with the LA kings and concussions??? Pominville got wiped out at the end of last season by the kings and that hurt.... Hopefully its not a serious concussion

He seems to be trying to play physically. He needs to stop doing that and keep to his game. He's small, fast, and crafty. No need to try to run guys that are 4 inches taller and have 30lbs on him.

Sounds like Towes and Kane might be out tonight, HAVE to take advantage.

Still no word on Granlund, hopefully its not as bad and maybe he just misses a game or two.

Yep, need to capitalize on this one with those two out. The Kings helped us last night and downed Phoenix. They have played one more game than us now, but Dallas one fewer. Its a tight race, but 2 pts tonight with 5 remaining games (after tonight) and it will be increasingly hard to not make the playoffs. Dallas and Phoenix play each other the last game so someone is going to get 2 pts out of that one and possibly one team with 1 pt. Its getting tight!!

On a side note, Tiger beer might provide the worlds worst hangover.

ha, I have drank many a tiger beer in my day. Maybe not enough to induce a hangover but I really like that beer. I have consultants from Malaysia who smuggled (not really) me 6 packs when they would go home before I could buy it locally.

My wife toured the brewery while at the huge air show a few years back too.

OnAFly - Hangover beer = fusel alcohols. The beer was too warm during the first 24 hours of fermentation, which is not surprising for a beer made in Singapore smile

+2 on Koivu and that backhand trick he does EVERY single time he goes on shootout. I am floored that he still fools people with it. He could acutally make it work in his favor to fake it and switch back to forehand. Just doing that 30% of the time would have goalies guessing.

Happy with the point last night too. Missed most of the game, started watching halfway through the third. Doesn't get any easier with Pitt, Winnipeg, Boston, St Louis, and Preds. Gotta keep accumulating points to stay in 7th. Wish Anaheim would lose a couple of games to assure St Louis getting the top spot.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
