Seems like they are way too tense, hands of stone, can't put it away in the clutch. 2-3-4 in past 9 games, and 1-1-3 in past 5 at home....and what does it mean when the coach even says; "what I hope is that we don't try turn this into 'oh no...here we go again'"....draw your own conclusion on that statement.

and it seems they can no longer play any defense.

I think this is the big one, D hasn't been as sharp and Kuemper hasn't been as good either. Not sure what to make of Bryz yet.

As a team overall they haven't been playing terrible just a mix of inconsistent play. I was hoping they might still go on a run (not much time left) but we just seem to be missing that extra gear right now. Lucky for us Boston is on a tear right now and beat Phoenix.

I think everyone saw what Coyle did today, kid was good and if he can bring that all the time you kind of see the potential this team has. Like I said a month ago, if we make the playoffs don't be surprised if we don't last long. However if we get hot things can still happen, and if the kids can all show up and show something at the same time we could be crazy be dangerous.

the kids are doing fine, its the vets that need to step up. Parise 7 SOG and nothing to show for it, koivu made a great shot but overall has not played like the leader of an NHL team....not too impressed and better turn it around in a big way soon. No better time than now to inflict some payback on Wings in their house today.

Yeo is gone after this season. You can tell he's losing (or lost) control when he comes out to the press and brings a list of reasons why the situation isn't that bad. We are 3-3-4 in our last 10. That's 10/20 points.

We're 4pts up on PHO, 6 on DAL. At this rate, we're on track for 94 points. The consensus seems to be 94-95 to get into the playoffs.

The only thing that I think will save his a$$ right now is making it into the second round. That will make it harder for Leo and Fletch to fire him.

From the Star/Trib;

On Brodziak being on the ice for three goals yesterday and losing 8 of 11 faceoffs, Yeo said, "Last game to me was not what I saw the two previous games. Wasn’t crazy about last game. As far as the two previous games, I thought it was two of his best games since before the Olympic break. And that’s what we have to try to get him back to. Before the Olympic break, he was playing a real important role for our team. Last game wasn’t as good. Maybe it was fatigue, whatever, but we have to get him back."

Almost laughable.....what important role was that? He would not even see any ice time on another team the way he has played all year. I can see 3/4 of the Wild team rolling their eyes after reading that.

Bryz is not as good as I was hoping. Not exactly athletic, sometimes out of position, not good in the SO.

Yeo on Brodz....yeah I don't get it. The guy gets his pocket picked constantly and can not hit an open net.

On tonight, well you have to give Yeo credit for getting the guys going again to get the lead. Did anyone else notice that DET actually continued to pressure up to the end of regulation instead of going into defensive turtle mode. I wish Yeo would see that.

On another note.. Bryzgolov is a sieve.

Yep and Kuemps hasn't looked the same either. I wonder if Harding has a miraculous recover in him for the playoffs.

Nice win tonight, a much needed two points.

That 3rd goal was awesome. The puck movement and sustained time in the O zone wore Detroit down until they jammed it in. I think the announcer said that it was absolute chaos for the wings right before they scored. Too bad Bryzgoloz had to let in a 3rd softy to take away the momentum and tie the game.

I think the Wild need to hold onto the puck more in the O zone instead of taking worthless high and wide snap shots.

I stopped watching after the 4th goal...maybe it was the 5th. Either way, onto tomorrow at STL. That should be an easy two points. crazy

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
