The season so far....

What do you guys think of the season so far?

I'm suprised at how Kurt Bush is running and also Bowyer seemes to be on the right track.

On the other side the 48 seems to be not running so well but is still in the lead. Gordon seems to be snake bitten and Hamlins slide.

JJ is no suprise how well he is doing along with Kenseth and Harvick.

JR and Kahne are also doing well, need those HMS engines to hang in there a few more laps though.

Ol Kurt Busch is having a daren good season looking at the funding he has and such a small team. The dude can drive a race car.

Gotta believe Kurt knows that his chances are running out. Either he plays the game correctly or he will be gone.

Sure he can run his own team but without sponsors or many of them, he is sunk.

Too bad he did not realize this long before it came to what it did.

He's already driving Childress equipment and getting support from them as his team is a satellite team for RCR, so it's not too much of a surprise that he's been doing OK. Even with the good equipment they are a single-car team so they still have to get the car set up right every week and they seem to be doing that.

If not for some end of the race bad luck they'd be even further up in the points. Good to see that he's settled down a bit and racing to his ability. I really don't care for him but he can wheel a car. He should be a factor at the road course this weekend if the car holds up.

At the end of the season Harvick will be gone, Menard has already re-signed, and I would assume that Childress' grandson will move up into Harvick's team. That leaves Burton as the question mark. I haven't heard where he is in his contract and I don't know if RCR is planning on going to a 4th car or not. All depends on sponsors I suppose whether or not they will make room for Busch. Childress will no doubt make sure there is room for his other grandson who will be coming up in a few years too. I would have to think that Burton will be done by then, if not earlier. He hasn't been doing very good the last few years.

If not for some bad luck, every racer would be higher in the points, that goes for all not just Busch.

I have to wait and see how long a team owner like Childress will put up with Kurt if he starts to be like he use to be. Childress does need a driver that can contend but Kurt??
