Minnow bucket i would think... If you keep them in minnow bucket try sinking the minnow bucket to the bottom to keep in the cooler water. Have done this on Winnie and it has worked very well...

I agree, keeping them sunk will help with the temps and O2 they need. Try the Frabil mesh bait keepers. They're cylindrical; weighted at the bottom with light floatation at the top with a Velcro lid. They come in 1 gallon and 5 gallon sizes. I just got the one gallon size and really like it.

Finally made one of these. It was a pain in the butt however it's slick.

I love this... nice job! This year I took a 5 gallon pale, drilled a ton of 1/8" holes in the top half, put a water tight screw off cover on it ($7.99 at fleet farm), I put a rock in it slightly bigger than a softball, tie a rope to the handle and lower that off the end of my dock. 3 weeks into the season and so far it's working good.

So far so good, however if I did it again I'd dream up a simpler design. The galvanized mesh, corner enforcers and additional hardware put materials around $80.00. The cost wasn't the worst part it was the hours I put in. I estimated 3-4 hours and ended up around 25 hours without running into any real problems. It's truely a madmans design. I like your idea and the old timers idea of the washing machine drum. Thanks
