I have been tasked at my place of work, to set up a fishing trip for some clients. I have never done a business trip before always a family thing. If any one would have any recommendations as to what resorts might offer something like this. We are thinking walleye fish not sure where LOW, Winnie, Leech just not really sure. any input would be nice. Thanks in advance.

How many? What time of year? What type of budget? Where are the clients coming in from and what type of time frame are you talking about? Day trip, overnight, weekend or longer?

6 guys or so it would be this summer no date set yet, budget I am sure is no object, time frame a couple of days like Thurs - Saturday. I am thinking that the guys would have little to no fishing experience and they would have no fishing gear. So all meals and lodging and fishing would need to be provided.

I would think any of the big resorts on LOW would be able to do it. Do American plan (meals) and charters during the day. That should cover it.

I have a friend that does a business trip for clients up to Borderview every winter and rents one of their big cabins for about 12-18 guys depending on year. Zippel Bay has big cabins as well. I go up to Zippel everywinter with friends and their service has always been good. I am sure Sportsmans, Arnesen's, etc.. would be able to accommodate a group of 6.

I would think one of the Larger resorts on LOTW would be perfect. Ballards or Border View be good choices for the Baudette area. Zipple Bay Resort would be my top pick in the Zipple Bay area, or Arnesen's near the Long Point area. They all would be a great choice. Many fond memories of all of them.

Have fun!

Just tossing another alternative out there - you might want to look into some of the resort/services out of Walker on Leech Lake. If they aren't die hard fisherman they might not want to spend all of their time on the water. I've never been there myself, but something like Chase on the Lake might offer them a little more variety to golf, hit a casino, etc.

Another option would be Gull Lake by Brainerd for the same reasons as Getanet stated for Leech. Great resorts on Gull - Grand View, Maddens and Craguns - great restaurants around the lake - plus outstanding golf courses if they don't want to fish everyday. You could hire fishing guides to put them on fish and have a good time having the guides show them the restaurants around the lake.

Brainerd would be good since you could hit a variety of lakes from Mille lacs, gull, north long, Pelican, Leech whitefish etc. plus have golf, casinos, and plenty of boat up restaurants to go to. I did this for several years for clients in the Brainerd area and worked out great. Airport is right there, and all the amenities you would want. I have a great guide that we worked with for years if you need a name. Has a few pro walleye guys under him and that was a nice wow factor for some of my die hard fishing clients. Deacons lodge(part of Breezy Point Resort) is a good place to stay since they have 5-6 bedrooms log houses to stay in with a pool table, card table, full kitchen and the driving range is right off the deck. Shoot me a pm if you need more info.
