SPN 1500 Twin Cities reports the Bears' interest in free agent RT Phil Loadholt is "legitimate" and they are offering more money than the Vikings.

Per Vikings beat writer Tom Pelissero, Minnesota doesn't intend to offer Loadholt more than $5 million a year. The $5 million figure would be solid for a right tackle, but by no means one of the bigger contracts in the league at that position. A day after dealing Percy Harvin, the Vikings appear to be at risk of losing another integral offensive piece. Loadholt is a 27-year-old mauler in the run game.

John Carlson has agreed to a restructured contract.

The Vikings foolishly gave Carlson a five-year, $25 million a year ago even though they had Kyle Rudolph ready to go. He ended up catching eight passes in 14 games. Due to count $4 million against the cap in 2013, Carlson was a lock for a massive paycut.

Word among agents is reportedly that the Vikings are a possible landing spot for Matt Cassel.

Cassel is expected to be released by the Chiefs shortly. The Vikings need a pocket passer to replace Joe Webb, who can't run an offense designed for Christian Ponder. Cassel has also been linked to the Cardinals and Jets.

Thats kinda funny, because Christian Ponder couldnt run the offense designed for him either smile

Vikings re-signed WR Jerome Simpson to a one-year contract.

Vikings fans will hardly miss Percy Harvin. Simpson's return is a major surprise for a team that appeared dead-set on moving on after he caught just 26 passes for 274 yards his first year in Minnesota. Now he's back as the Vikes' nominal No. 1 receiver until they inevitably address a WR corps that was among the worst in the NFL last season. Simpson's athleticism is ever appealing, but he's not going to have fantasy value in 2013.

I think we have our WR problems figured out now crazy

Vikings re-signed RT Phil Loadholt to a multi-year contract.

The Bears tried swooping in on Loadholt; GM Phil Emery may now turn his attention to Jake Long, or perhaps more affordable Sam Baker or Jermon Bushrod. At 6-foot-8, 343, Loadholt's return is a huge plus for Adrian Peterson. Loadholt recently turned 27 and graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 4 run-blocking offensive tackle in 2012. He's missed one start in his four-year career.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports members of the Vikings' organization "aren't thrilled" with GM Rick Spielman's decision to cut Antoine Winfield.

Winfield has been the best slot corner in football several seasons running. "It's a move backwards," is how one club official characterized the move. Despite his age -- 36 in June -- Winfield immediately becomes a top-ten cornerback available in free agency. We'd rank them like this: 1) Aqib Talib 2) Sean Smith 3) Brent Grimes 4) Winfield 5) Keenan Lewis 6) Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie 7) Derek Cox 8) Chris Houston 9) Antoine Cason 10) DeAngelo Hall.

i like twon but not at age 36 and making 7.5 M. We have to get younger..Maybe he takes a look at whats out there and reconsiders the paycut. Cant blame him for that..Had a good year last year but i just dont see him staying healthy and playing FT and being injury free. Vikings and Twon knew this was coming..Now on to K Williams.. It is a business from both sides...

The Vikings have re-signed starting linebacker Erin Henderson to a two year deal, and apparently are backing away from free agent WR Greg Jennings, according to Tom Pelissero of 1500espn.com

Jennings isnt worth the 10+ million he wants. I hope we dump him back on them.

Looking towards the draft one guy I really like is Arthur Brown. The guy is a beast, takes on blockers well, explodes to the football and through the gaps and can cover the pass. As far as receivers go I think Robert Woods is gonna be a good pro. I really hope they take a good look at Brown though, he is gonna be a stud.

We resigned Henderson too? Wow. I hope this is a special teams move only. What about Hendersons game did Spielman like last year? He was terrible! You cant tell me Henderson and Simpsons $$ wouldnt be better off spent somewhere else.

Gregg Jennings would be the best outside reciever we've had here since Moss the first time. Plus he knows the in's and out's of a division foe. There are alot of +'s signing Jennings. Name 1 man in this draft that would step in day 1 and contribute more then Jennings- you cant because he doesnt exist. Im really starting to wonder about Ricky.

Mark my words- the loss of Winfield is gonna hurt too This team is going backwards right now.

WHAT ABOUT IT IS SO FRICKEN HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND??? Do you think Jennings can throw the ball to himself? He is injury prone and dam near 30 years old. Funny how the Packers and Steelers are letting their "BIG" recievers go and we think we gotta have them. Their trophey cases are full. Ours are empty. They arent afraid to take years and reload and develop new players. They actually realize you cant win it every year. Unlike Queen fans.

And just because they cut Winfield doesnt mean he wont be back. Do I like him on our team? Yes, but not at $7 million when he wont play half the time.

Exactly. Jerry Rice in his prime would look like Benchwarmer Bob with Ponder throwing the ball. He cant throw the back shoulder or the simple ten and outs. Forget 30 yards down field.

We will be better off going for someone like Danario Alexander who can compensate for some of Flounders terrible throws by using his big body to shield defenders. Gonna cost way less and could have much bigger ROI. Allows us to get another guy too. I really like Tavon Austin. On the right team he will be a stud.

I dont expect the playoffs this year. But I will be expecting a lot 2 years from now.

Jennings says going to a team with a really good QB is huge. So I doubt we backed away he probably was the one backing away. Jennings wouldn't be the same player as we seen while A-Rodge was his QB.

Ok, whatever Buck. Rick will save us with his masterful drafting im sure. I mean, he got 3 starters and a K last year, hes the best.

Robotic Voice- I love rick spielman. every move he makes is the right move. every pick he makes is the best. he can do no wrong. i love chong simpson and erin henderson. they are ballers, i can see why we resigned them. Rick clearly has a master plan.

Better?

No kidding? HES THE BEST QB IN FOOTBALL! Jennings wil be taking a step back where ever he goes unless its to the saints or patriots!

Hed still be by far the best wideout with our worthless bunch and only a moron would argue that. But im sure rick will just make two brilliant picks and solve our wr woes in the draft though, so forget it.

Yeah great insight, grab another #2/#3 WR, that's what we need. Did you watch many games? Ponders ball may not be the best but how many dropped balls did you see? How many terrible routes did you see? How bad were the WRs at creating space? You want to blame Ponder? You can't make steak out of a shart sandwich. Austin would be a mistake, how great did Hester look on paper before going league? Great return guy but a #4 WR just to fill a spot. We don't need to throw a high pick away on a special teams guy. I'd rather take the honey badger later in the draft.

Lol, what exactly did you want the guy to do in his first season as GM. Did you miss the part where I said Jennings wants a really good QB? He might take a step back anywhere else but I don't think he wants to step back to highschool.

You really want to spend 10+ million on Jennings? Just because he'll be the best WR on the team isn't saying much, I'd be the best WR on the team. Don't believe me? Ask Buck he already knows I could get more sacks then Jared I am that mean.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
