tsande00
Looking for a hub this year. Anybody have any idea what a good expectation for a "deal" on fatfish 949i or bigfoot 4000t would be? Looks like retail on both units is ~$325.

It wasn't the 949i....I went with the non-insulated version last year and paid $140 at the show from Joes.
fisherman-andy
Imma head out to the ice show in the morning looking to pick up some goodies like the LX6, Clam Bigfoot, rod case etc. Anyone got things to share from the show? What did you get? New products? - So far I heard Joe's had limited on hand Black Betty 6061 reels (likely sold out by now) - Strikemaster no longer have their Polar Parka/Bibs deal that was $190 previously - Clams handing out bait pucks or other freebies? - Babe Winkleman signing autographs and pictures at the Eskimo booth ( you'll find me at the Bikini ice team booth instead )
Glockwinger
Picked up a hitch for my Otter Wild fish house and some jigs. Also renewed my subscription to Outdoor News. Bought some all important mini doughnuts for my 11 year old son. Met Ron Schara, very nice guy. Saw Dave Genz again. Had a great talk on equipment and tactics with Brian Brosdahl. Gonna try to maybe hire him as a guide for late ice this year. Walked around the Clam history of ice fishing area. Don't forget there are more vendors (including HSO's booth) up in the Roy Wilkin's auditorium. I probably missed them, but didn't see the Arctic Armor suits there this year, or the brandy spinning wheel. The Frabill booth was giving out depth checker weights and small jig boxes. I did get a clam bait puck, but missed out on the free 5 gallon buckets one vendor was giving out. Have fun and report back!
gob4me
Was there any deals or specials on ice shelters.
Glockwinger
Was there any deals or specials on ice shelters. Since I wasn't in the market for one, I didn't really check on deals or specials. I think Reeds was having a 20% off sale though. Three guys in line at the register bought flip over houses from them. That was where I got my hitch and it was 20% off at the show. We're hidden back in the corner We're in a very poor location. Traffic there was poor at best.

Too bad I think many people are unaware there is another level of the show this year.

BuckyBadger
Couldn't believe I was able to get one at the show, almost missed it! Also as others have said they opened up a second level this year so head up there to see some other displays. A few new vendors here and there, some vendors missing from the past. luv2fish
I like using Tiger Eye's for my dead sticks and I cannot find them ANYWHERE in the cities. Buddy txt's me and found them 3 for $5 at the show. Needless to say we stocked up!
fishingmedic
Myself and a buddy made the trip yesterday right at opening. Eagle Claw had the 5 gallon buckets which were gone right away. Our mission was to try and get a couple of the eagle claw inline reels which we were lucky to get 4 of the only 10 combos that were at the show. They were gone 15 minutes after the show opened. My buddy picked up a Lx7 for $600 from Marine General. They beat all other vendors on price. The G13 6061 is an awesome reel after playing with it at their booth, hopefully the price will come down a bit. Scored a free lure from redrockstore, clam bait puck, Roach rod from eagle claw, and small tackle box. Head to the second floor as they have added vendors and those guys need some traffic by their booths! O forgot to mention I spoke to camoplast and I am one step closer to getting a set!! fisherman-andy
Well got back from the show about hour ago. Lotsa deals to be had as well as free stuff given with purchases. Picked up an LX6 @ Joes for a what I thought was a great price and didnt bother to shop around pricing. Was offered some freebies along with my LX6 deal, a rapala pack and was suppose to get a bucket and t-shirt which I got jipped on cause they were given away instead of being saved for me like I was told when I came back later to pick up my already paid LX6. When I told the lady behind the cashier and the reps about my stuff I was then told to go to Eagle Claw to pick up my bucket, the Eagle Claw reps which by far was the worse reps to deal with at the show and told me to go to the end of the 100ft long waiting line and I never got a bucket? Big disappointment. No bucket no shirt as promised. Fed up I decided it wasnt worth the trouble and left the booth. Speaking of the Eagle Claw reps my buddies had trouble just getting their attention about the availability of their inline reels, while the reps stood around like almost ignoring them??? Stopped over by Tuned Up Customs and the reps there were awesome. Very informative and helpful. Bought a 36" precision ice rod with a split handle. Their noodle rods are also very nice. Finally picked up an a Deluxe Ice Advantage rod case for all my custom rods. Brought it home only to find no matter how sweet the setup was it doesnt fit my different rod sizes properly. Will probably have to contact them to work out the foam insert fittings. All in all fun day but unsatisfactory in away. Such is life...
