Gold Rush season 3

I was surprised there was no thread started yet for season 3!

With all the hype and my anticipation for the new season, I've been a little disappointed so far. I realize that each season takes a while to get going in a positive direction, but do the Hoffman's really have a chance? Who will get the "Mother Load" they keep hyping-up? To start the season I thought Hoffman's NO DOUBT! Because I thought they had enough smart people (to counter their stupidity) and be steered in the right direction.

The Dakota boys will get some, but I have a hard time believing that their Glory Hole will be precisely where they are digging, then once they get there, they have to spread the hole out (I'm not a miner, but if it took 2 years to dig the hole, it probably won't be easy to spread the hole wider!)

Parker really could be successful with his new lease. He doesn't have to dig too deep and really could work that land quickly, not to mention his other dig once the melt is over and he can get up there again.

But with the Hoffman's...another season...same old. One thought is that the producers and show are trying to build anticipation for when they do hit it good. But I have 2 major questions!

(1)If they know their old washplant isn't very efficient, do they ever run the material washed out again? If gold sinks quickly, you would think that they would have a good source to run a 2nd time if some was missed. This one bugged me after last season!

(2) On the new claim Indian River what if they went about getting to paydirt a different way. Do you remember at the end of season 1, Todd went to Tony Beets's operation. If I remember correctly, they were using more of a dredging method by washing the paydirt down with large pumps and hoses where it could be collected. Could they do this same thing with the mud in their way on Indian River? Clear the trees/brush, cut through the permafrost, and wash the rest into that pond nearby. I can't imagine that land that's already been worked is cared to much about (at least it doesn't seem to be).

Just a rant to get a thread started!

Bottom line its TV and stupid makes money. If they wanted to they could go down the road and film an operation that knows what they are doing and makeing a ton of money at it. But that would only be 1 episode on Discovery TV. Way more money in filming a bunch of rookies trying to find gold in Alaska and the jungle. A lot more stageing and acting in this gold rush show than there is on Deadliest catch.

What an epic failure the live finale was last night. LOL

A dude in a dirty lab jacket smelting in the background.

a couple bottles of beer strategically placed in the table

Todd high as a kite and all tweaked out on blow

and I'm still waiting to see who hit the motherlode.

trainwreck

that christo doyle was 100% tool bag last night told Parker to shut up on live TV and the way he ran everything was just horrible. I was wondering what was going on with Todd to if he was into the noise candy or what he claims he caught something in South America. I still remember back to season 1 when good old Dorsey said Todd didnt care about the gold it was all about getting hooked up with Discovery. 2 horrible season and he suddenly gets massive amount of money from investors seems odd. Oh well ill still probably watch it next year.

I thought it was interesting that Fred and Parker got just enough gold to make their quota. Seemed pretty staged. The way Christo just said that the Hoffmans got the motherlode even though they didnt even make their quota was lame. Anyway, unfortunately Im not sure what I will do on Friday night now...

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed Todd was coked out of his mind, those were some pretty frequent sniffles. I guess he found more than gold on that trip to South America. Very dissapointed as well with the finally. Thought Parker's last clean out was going to be the mother load but I guess the accumulation of the season was hitting the mother load even though it was made out to be "see who hits the mother load." Like I didn't watch any of the episodes. They totally watered this season down.

Todd's a joke, I guess that's his draw

Dave's the brains and needs his own claim and crew void of the Hoffmans

Parker seems like he's matured and I hope he does well

Why doesn't Fred blast the glory hold with TNT?

Christo is a complete tool

Those sniffles were not from a cold. Classic case of the coke drip. Been around it before, I'm no junky but I know what those were. It wasn't just that, his eyes were glazed and he was way more sporadic. Also had the twitches big time. There certainly was something going on. I'd bet money that it was the yeyo.

the hoffmans pulled $1.25 million in gold but it only took them $900k to get it laugh

Then divide the money cleared by among 10 workers plus investors, what are they doing up there? I know its for tv, but.. They have to be getting a pay check from Discovery Channel as well. No way they would bust their butts for the small paychecks they are getting from the gold.

That was a waste of time. smile

According to WebMD, the length of time that cocaine will stay in your blood is about 12 hours from the time that you last use it. However, if a drug test is your concern, few people use blood tests to check for cocaine abuse because their ability to check for traces of the drug are limited to a small window. Most people will utilize a urine test because the byproducts of drugs will be in the system for days after use – for cocaine, that means that urine tests can detect cocaine for two or three days after use. Drug tests that test hair to find byproducts can detect cocaine use for several months after you use the drug.
