Just a quick update.. I will get the full report in tonight.

Ice was solid this morning but could tell it was getting weaker after 11:30 AM or so.

I started packing it in a little after 11:45

Saw one pike, and one muskrat... (yes that little guy still screams like a little girl) grin

Had the baby Sham Cisco on today... (the muskrats love it)

pretty cool picks there sir!!!!!!! i think from my experience ya may need a little snow on the ice. me thinks it make the fish a little less spooky.

Yes, I really had no chance at the one fish I did see.. in quickly, spazzed around for a second, then it was out just as fast.

I got out and set up around 8 AM (wanted to wait for daylight.. plus I took it very cautiously.. before setting up on new ice) I was only brave enough to get out to 3 1/2 foot of water.

Lake is clear but murky too.. the pic actually came out clearer than the water looked in real life.

Did not see anything until 11 AM.

Northern came in; then 2 min later the muskrat popped in the hole... he didn't really scare me since I say him comming; that is until the little heffer started swimming right toward me. A little gentle persation with the side of the spear got him to go back down the hole. grin

I was looking to get a mad bomber hat this year for fishing... you know one of those with the rabbit fur in it... After thinking about it; I am now on the hunt for a muskrat lined mad bomber hat.... that is a little more appropriate attire for a darkhouse spearer... grin

I walked or started to walk out on the lake today in hopes for some pike for dinner, about a 100 yrds from shore there was a pressure crack in the ice that started to sink as I walked by and water was coming on to the ice figured it wasn't worth getting wet for. So no pike for dinner.
