Camo/blaze vs full blaze?

Recommended Posts

Who's wears camo/blaze vs full orange blaze? Do you think it makes a difference? I wear camo/blaze because even tho deer are color blind, the "black and "white" look to a color blind deer of camo vs full blaze, I believe is just enough of an offset to allow for occasional movement on stand without detection. I also wear a real tree camo netting draped across by shooting rail for further deception. Ah, what fun, doing the little things!

I have hunted both with solid orange and camo orange. Not sure if it makes a difference or not. I do now hunt with camo pants and blaze coat or vest. My theory is to break up my siloette so I don't look like a man standing there. Maybe if they see something that is only "half a man" then they won't be as alarmed and I will still have enough orange on to be seen by those who I want to see me!

I wear Camo blaze coveralls. I like the idea of the camo breaking up my human / unnatural siluette. I also have camo burlap materal drapped across my shooting rail to help hide movement. I'll agree though - any movement no matter what your wearing will be detrimental. I think if a guy wears solid blaze and he is high enough in a stand - it makes no difference / as long as he isn't moving too much.

I wear a camo blaze coat with Mossy Oak pants. If I am in a stand with a rail, I try to use a camo netting to hide my lower half. It's REALLY nice to be able to change foot position every once in a while without having to worry if a deer can see the movement!

I have a blaze camo coat, because it looks cool. I don't think it matters. It's the first blaze coat I ever had. Used to have blaze coveralls, but they shrunk wink Then I just wore a vest or orange hooded sweatshirt over whatever I could fit under it.

Straight Blaze here. No reason other then it was probably on sale. I would add thought, but probably not much of a difference, I like to be VERY visible after what happen a few seasons ago. Solid orange from head to toe. Always have red light on hat when moving(dawn and dusk). I do hunt public. I do hunt behind a camo skirt on both my stands.

I think the full blaze is better, because as stated above deer see movement. Even if you're standing/sitting still, just rotating your body to look will cause the camo to move. Full blaze won't do that. With full blaze they you can move your arm in front of you and they won't be able to pick out the movement as easily.

I had 100% orange for years, I still got picked off moving and havn't noticed a big different when I switched to camo. Not that there isn't a chance the all orange thing couldn't work but I think its more important when and how you move vs just moving in general. Any fast or large movements will get picked up no matter what.

Blaze underwear all the way, then I add camo pants so you can't see what I have on underneath.

I'm in favor of the breakup pattern overall and went that way vs. the solid blaze. When I see a blaze ghile suit I'll be in heaven! wink
