UMC
It seems as though the drain from my kitchen sink is emitting somewhat of a foul odor. Not sewer gas type smell, just bacteria/stinky wet stuff smell. There is not a garbage disposal on the sink. Just wondering what might work well here. I see there are lots of home remedies out there, with baking soda or bleach or store-bought products. Should I run some sort of brush down there? Getanet
I used to have a garbage disposal that would stink pretty bad from time to time. One of the cheapest remedies was to cut up a lemon and throw chunks of it down the disposal.Since you don't have a disposal, I'd just squeeze some lemon juice down there and see if that takes care of it. I've also heard it's good for your pipes to pour a warm can of Coca Cola down your drain from time to time. That might help too. Either of those are cheap, easy things to. Can't hurt. EBass
Liquid Plumber or Drano? I'm getting that stink from my bathroom sink. I'm going to try the liquid plumber gel.
Hoey
Freeze up some ice cubes with bleach or baking soda mixed in. Run the frozen cubes through the disposer.
harvey lee
I forget the name but there is a packet of a foaming agent that I use once a year or so in the drain in the side of the kitchen sink with the disposal.I put this small packet in, run some water and it foams like crazy and then turn on the water and disposal. After that, smells great like everything is brand new.get it at the local hardware store. sleben
Pour half a cup of baking soda down the drain and chase it with vinegar. Then stand back! Foams like mad! I do this twice a year.
UMC
I had seen the baking soda and vinegar method on a couple websites, I think I have some around so I'll try that. Just to clarify, there is no garbage disposal.

Archerysniper
Do you have a dishwasher hooked up to it? I have seen where the drain lines from them have a dip and collect all kinds of nasty smelling stuff.
DANR
The crossover pipe can acumulate gunk. It helps to fill the sinks full of hot water, then flush them out one at a time
