chillincarp870
hey guys we just got back from a no dak early goose season hunt and we ended with 50 geese we are planning on making sticks out of them at Schmidts meat market in Nicollet Mn. Quackaddict9
They're great and a fast way to get eat them! Mix some pork and some spice and smoke em. I've had some that had jalapenos in them, good stuff! Sounds like you shot some geese out west!
Maxxed Out
Sticks are good, but so is summer sausage and hotdogs/brats!
wakeguy
We always drop our geese off at Gourmet Game Processing in Dilworth on our way back from ND. Have all the breasts made into sticks and jerky and it tastes great. We pick it up on our return trip for the second 7 day period. He is also very reasonably priced. RuddyDuck
I pretty much make sticks out of most of my geese. Where I take them they mix it with a little hamburger. Usually I bring in 12-15lbs of goose and have them throw in 4-5lbs of burger. Turns out pretty good. Going to try the Cheddar ones this year. If I get any geese that is. chillincarp870
Dan, i brought them to Schmidts due to hunting swan all the time, and i'm doing hot sticks and some burger, thought i'd try what goose and pork ground together tastes like, can't be the worst thing i've ever eaten. Lunker
Good way to do it. I've had good sticks and brats from various places. The best though was a summer sausage that had chunks of cheese in it. yum!
Archerysniper
Garlic and cheese or cheese and jalapeno are really good.
Outfitter17
We made 30lbs of sticks after we got back from a sask. hunt 2 years ago. They were fantastic, we had the processor mix some cheese in the meat and it will definitely be something we do again the next time we have sticks made. Bryce
Walked out of Von Hansons last year with I believe 6 grocery bags of sticks. Cheddar cheese with cayenne has been the blend they have come up with for us. Mix of duck, goose, pheasant and sky carp with a good dose of mix. Cheddar were too bland and their jalapeno cheese too unpredictable.
otterman91105
I had 15 lbs made last year at louise's meats in WI. They turned out really well and the price was fair.
