2012 RZR 570

Seriously thinking about trading in our 2 Polaris' towards one..! I like the 50" width, good power(can watch u-tube clips beating or keeping up to 800's for short distances), and price. Couple reasons it's cheaper besides cc's is, shocks and some suspension parts, and wheels/tires which are pretty lame(all can and will be upgraded!). Sounds like a new engine though, which of course Polaris raves about.. Was wondering if anyone owns one or knows someone that does??! Would like some real life reviews! They only came out in red too?!

Yeah, they're gearing the 570's towards more budget minded people like us.. And w/50", can still get on ATV trails. Plus enough cargo room in back to throw a deer in!

I had a 1st gen RZR 800 that I just recently sold. Due to them being reclassified as a class 1 their value has gone up and they are selling better.

I did like the 800 but the fuel mileage sucked. The 570 should be better.

Check to see if they changed the air box design and location. Many motors went south due to sucking dirt into the intake due to the filter being located right over the rear drivers tire. Hopefully they also fixed the location of the dipstick which on mine required the removal of the passengers seat and the rear firewall that was held on with Torx fasteners. The oil filter location was also a challenge imho.

But it was a blast to ride and handled ridiculously well for an sxs.

Great little RZR! Had the opportunity to drive a couple of them now and put on some good miles on a couple occasions. Plenty of power, motor ran really nice. I would also comment on what I thought was one noticable difference from the 800's is the fuel economy. I drove right around 175 miles on a full tank of gas over the course of a long weekend. Was really awesome!

Awesome, thanks for the replies! Thought I heard somewhere in the little research I did that the air intake is driver side and has a spiral design that is supposed to reduce air contamination.. need to double check on that. Even on our Sportsmans, the oil filter and dipstick are in a stupid spot. Just asking for a chunk of dirt to fall in..! Pretty much my only complaints w/Polaris though cool

Both the clutch air in and the engine air in are located behind the drivers left shoulder on the side of the box. As far as the dipstick and oil filter accessability....much improved. The oil filter is in a great location to get at! No "swirl" effect on the air box. The air box is in the back of the machine and just has a flat media style filter like found in most pickups nowadays, easily accessable through the access cover in the bottom of the box.

It's good to hear Polaris did the right thing and fixed those problems. It is also good to hear that they have better fuel mileage on the 570. I am a bit older than I used to be so I didn't drive mine like I would have when I was younger but I was still getting only 8-10 MPG or so with mine most of the time, which was not very good as far as I was concerned.

They really are a fun machine for 2 to ride in and the lower seat position is way more comfortable and stable than other SxS machines I have ridden.

Good post. I'm actually thinking about doing the same type of trade. We picked up a second 4 wheeler a few years ago so my wife could ride and I don't think she's rode it more than twice...

My interest in the RZR came about after hearing of the ability to go on the regular wheeler trails.

I would have to agree with Nama on this. owI have had a few chances to drive the 570 and was very impressed with it. Mileage was great, comfort was good. i am driving a RZR S right now but would not hesitate on buying the 570. Handled the trails as good as the bigger ones and could really make it skoot, a few mods to this buggy and you really got a dandy wheeler for 2.

My only negative is it runs a little lean from the factory, so it makes it run a little hot. It has a temp guage you can monitor on the speedo cluster.. Can buy fuel controllers that richen the fuel, cuts back the little backfire, makes it run cooler.. Other than that, love it! Think it's less tippy than a normal 4-wheeler, due to it's low center of gravity. Plenty of power too. Had it going down a gravel road today at 45 for a 1/2 mile, could take yr hand off the wheel and plenty of power to spare! Rides the ditches smooth like a Polaris, buy one!

My next one is going to be the 2013 570. The new ones have the turf mode on them so you only have one wheel driving when you want it to. You actually find your self on pavement more than you would think and with one wheel driving it saves bigtime on the rubber. I currently have the 800 it is a 2011 that I got last april and this weekend turned 900 miles on it. The stock suspension does need to be upgraded on these base models but once you do it makes the machine very comfortable.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
