I think half of the muskie anglers in the metro will be on one of those three lakes. Not me.

I will be on lake x. Just watch the pix start popping up this summer and lake x is the most consistent producer.

Not sure where I'll end up this weekend, but since I missed bass opener last weekend while I was off doing some family stuff, I'll probably be somewhere where I can do a bass/muskies combo platter trip.

Hit Gervais from 5:30 to 9, nothing. KFAN outdoors host said the landings at BE, WBL and forest were full before 5am. Same on waconia

Counted 21 boats within my sight on Forest about 7am. Everyone was mostly curteous. Caught a 42 off the bat on a topwater. Great start to the season!

Lost what may have been my personal best this morning in the west metro. Had her on for about a minute then lost her. Hit right next to the boat on a double showgirl. I'm going to sulk for awhile now and hit it again in the middle of the week.

Raised 8 today, three around that 50" mark. One took a swipe at my buddies lure just as he was jerking it and then went back to the depths. Heading back out tomorrow.

I was on BE and actually paid attention and every ski boat I saw was flinging at least one dub 10 about half of them had 2 going. Had a handful of follows and my buddy lost a nice one.

At 5 AM I was the 20th rig at the launch - never seen it that busy before on opener.

Every fish we saw yesterday afternoon/evening was on blades. We both threw the sink at them but one of us always had blades on and the only thing that moved fish were 10s - couple big mommas too. Now if they'd just eat the stupid thing!!

Hit the Minneapolis chain yesterday morning only moved three fish. One was decent the other two were dinks. Talked to a few other boats and they had very similar stories. All in all it sounds like a fairly slow Metro opener.

Rugby and I hit Minnetonka from about 6am to 11:30 on opener and didn't even have a follow.

Fished from 5am-10pm with a few break here and there. We ended up landing 2 36'' fish throughout the day. In addition to catching 2 we saw 9 other fish, all of them took real good looks at our baits making it a fun opener.

I had a successful opener, caught a supermodel, 2 #12 window makers, a #10 window maker and a shallow invader from aaron at MTO, now to find some time to get out and use them!
