Just wanted to say good luck with the season starting tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a safe and memorable hunt with those Toms spitting a drumming in your face. Just remember it's not the gobbler it's the gobble, for the first timers out their they are like nothing you have hunted before they will tie you in knots and have you ready to quit some times and then it can change in a second.

Good luck be safe and make sure of your target. I cant wait for the pictures to start rolling in tomorrow.

Haven't been online in a while but scored last Wed on a 23lb with 1" hooks and 9.5" beard - should have pics soon.

Being older for sure and maybe wiser I stayed in bed and listened to it rain. Went out late morning and called one in right away but couldn't seal the deal. Had a pair show mild interest but never came in range. Couple hours later after a move I believe one of the pair made a fatal mistake.

Seems like hit and miss depending on who you talk to - overall numbers are down around here.

My pops heads out tomorrow - he went out yesterday morning to listen and heard 3 different birds in the area.

Good luck to all who will be heading out yet!

Went out to scout last night and had to cut it short as I kept running into strutting toms. Saw 6 in about 15 minutes and decided to back out before I bumped too many. I still have a week and a half to wait.

Getting excited to hunt Saturday! Alot of turkeys around and hopefully I can call a big tom in! Where my cabin is, I hear them in the morning when the crows are calling and they are in the woods within a hundred yards from me. Too bad it's next to a bunch of lake cabins as this would be a slam dunk for a gobbler! grin
