So lets say he doesn't sign with the ducks. He becomes a free agent. Does it matter to the player, Schultz in this situation? I'm just wandering if the player takes a a hit money wise if he doesn't sign for the team that drafted him??

Nope too old to back in the draft I think, he would be just doing what Wheeler did, go free agent and pick your team. Anaheim would get a compensation pick in the 2nd round. Kind of a dump rule if you ask me, the teams can lose out on good players, or it's great if you pick up a top player for nothing. Sort of an odd rule all around.

Didn't they have a pretty solid team 5 years ago? It was only one season but I know they were solid, even made the NCAA's as an at large bid. It will be interesting to see who they get.

Mankato has 2 standout freshman(Matt Leitner and Jean-Paul Lafontaine) this year. They could be tourament bound if there freshman class this year sticks around for awhile.

Big loss for the Sioux, so who is going to score for you guys next year? Ya there is that Rocco kid but he's got all of 4 NCAA games under his belt and is coming off a major injury.

GF herald is reporting that goaltender Aaron Dell is as good as gone. Didn't say who he may sign with. Probably find out sometime before the weekend if he's reporting it now.

What's the line on Bjugstad using the round trip portion of his ticket to Tampa Bay? Speculation that the Panthers are going to take a run at him this weekend. Huge sarcastic thanks to ESPN and the Big 10 for killing college hockey as we know it.

There are those rumors that Bjugs might actually come back for his Jr year but I highly doubt it. Florida tried to sign him after last season and will be pushing harder this year. I would LOVE to see him come back but I just don't see it.

Bryce - What are you talking about? We get to finally have our heated rivalry with Purdue Hockey. Didn't you know that Indiana is the new College Hockey hotbed? Besides, it just makes sense geographically.

I wish there was a sarcasm horn on this.

The Sioux and Denver ruined the WCHA, it would have still been a very strong conference, so take your teams little man syndrome and shove it.

The big 10 is where the Gophs and Wisc belong. They should be with the other Div 1 schools. The NCAA is going to put the Big 10 and Hockey east head to head to try to gain more fans and get more exposure to the sport, and it likely will.

The NCHC is going to have to be the wild card I guess, its gonna be plum full of Canadian players so Im not sure who is going to care.

Frozen 4 reps this year.

WCHA

HE

Future WCHA

ECAC

Why the heck is this dump posted here.

Im not surprised about Dell, he has falling stock.

I still think there is a good chance Bjugyy come back .

Im thinking 50/50.

I agree. Bjugstad will be back and with Rau and Budish they will lead the nation in total points for a line. Yep you heard it hear first.

Sounds like und better start looking for some more 23 year old canadians to bring in for there next freshman class.

Enjoy the game, Go Gophers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heard Lou on KFAN yesterday and he made a good point on Bjugstad staying. Florida doesn't have a lot of money and they already have 3 young players they need to sign in the off season or they will lose them.

So from Florida's standpoint he is probably 4th on their priority list.
