Looks like Open Water forum might be #1 shortly. Losing ice as we speak w/rain tomorrow and wind for Sunday. Not a good recipe for ice fishing. I actually peeked under the boat cover this afternoon Still got gas in the auger though and fingers are crossed.

Weirdness prevails. Not an ice guy myself, but I feel for you guys that enjoy it. I am loving this warm winter though. After last winter, we earned it.

I have my fingers crossed too...that all this ice stuff goes away as early as climatologically possible. I miss my boat.

I love not having ice! The boat will stayed stored, but i've been enjoying fishing below the dams on the cedar!

I was very suprised when i was hiking back through the wet lands down here the other day and finding open water in areas that had absolutely NO CURRENT!

This weather keeps up and I will be forced...err...lucky enough to take my boat out of hibernation!

Just got home from my 5th ice outing in the past 3 weeks or so, more limits of nice eyes! Oh, and I've been driving out pulling the wheelhouse the last 2 weeks:)

I was in Madison today: saw some ducks swimming in the Wisconsin River. Also saw more people trailering boats than snowmobiles.

I became sooo anxious for ice fishing at the end of September that I prepped my ice gear and started packing up open water equipment. Now, I'm really having trouble convincing myself that it isn't spring. When my mind wanders, it heads to a trout stream.

Shouldn't be any winter kill this year!

The lack of pressure this Ice Season should make for some awesome fishing this spring. Wait, some lakes are already half open.

I am just thankful that there has been no loss of life with the way this season has been. Be safe out there everyone.
